She knew the rules now she can live with her choices.

When it rains it pours, she found out that her mom just passed and now her dreams are put in pause because she decided to smoke to cope with the lost. Hopefully she grows from this and comes back faster than ever.

Rules are rules, if we keep letting everyone break them the world will be tricked.

I didn’t know about this. I understand rules are rules, but this is a little more understandable.

They should let her run on the other events such as relay, IMO. Isn’t she technically still eligible for certain days? I admit I don’t keep up with it. Just thought I read it was still possible.

It's bullshite. She should be able to run for the same reason NC State should have been allowed to play. A nonsensical rule being followed just for the sake of it being a rule is pointless.

Not only that, she was eligible to run on the relay team even with her suspension. This is more along the lines of Joe Alleva making will Wade stay at home in the postseason out of "an abundance of caution." There is no reason for her to be left off the relay team

The bigger question is why this is getting down votes? You don’t have to like the rule but you have to follow it. It’s not a do what you want culture then complain after. Too many useless people that can’t/won’t follow instruction.

Because most athletes smoke weed. There are your Dare Rosenthal situations where someone just won't quit but for something like this its just really bad luck which is why people are angrier at the system than Richardson.

like its a joke the nba players will be allowed to go while others have to stay home.

Also to Sha'carri's credit she is saying she made a mistake.

I've never said anything giving her a pass for breaking the rules. My wish is that she learn from this and be better for it. I'm a fan and look forward to seeing her race in the future.

The ESPNWoke crowd this am was calling it Racist because they enforce the laws more on blacks rather than white privileged athletes. You can’t make this crap up

USATF chooses who runs the relay if I’m not mistaken. Dumb move on their part.

Seeing people emphasize rules as if they’ve never broken any is comical.

She knows what she did, she said she can live with it. It’s her life, her way of coping with something more important than the Olympics. The girl will figure out her life and go from there.

it's the rules. If you don't like the rules, then change them. But you can't just ignore them.

If you just ignore rules, society breaks down and you have chaos.

Can almost guarantee weed will stop being part of testing by next Olympics.

Again, she didn’t ignore them. She was well aware of the rules and what she was breaking. As in her statements. Again, she was dealing with something more important. She might regret it one day, but frick it, it’s not the end of her life.

Shenused before the trials knowing she would be tested and that it’s banned. They can’t trust her to not use between now and the Olympics. Can’t put her on the team if they can’t trust her.
