I'm surprised they are thinking about going this route.

Don't be. How many people have you heard talking about including women in the draft. It's all a ruse.

I call bullshite that only 32,000 Male Soldiers have scored at least 500/600.

I also note that the article completely leaves out the fact that the ACFT is age-neutral.

Sounds like discrimination. Females should have the same requirements just like Trans too.

Why not go back to the original standards?
If you can pass, you’re in. If not, you’re out.
Not the men+women, gender neutral stuff.
The first half of the 1900’s standard.

If you can meet the requirements, I don’t care what you are. May only be 1-2 women that make it. But lowering the standards time and again to allow more admittance is just further proving the point.

If they are going to be in combat situations they need to be judged by the same standards.

This further highlights why women shouldn't be in the military to begin with. So they can't pass this "genderless" test. Ok... So now what? We go back to giving them female fitness tests that they can pass, but that fall woefully short of the male standard? And it's totally fine to send substandard soldiers out into the field of battle, endangering the lives of everyone around them?

I know that there are women that have fought and died for this country. I don't want in any way to take away from their sacrifices. But this is just common sense. You don't send people out into battle who can't hang with everyone else, just to make a political statement.

So, males are physically stronger and more athletic than females? No way! What genius figured this out? Follow the science!!!

High fitness scores gives you the leg up for promotion, they should keep the new system.

Of course, this effort to treat men and women as physical equals has only shown how different they actually are.

Aren’t there 30,000 genders? That’s a lot of different standards.

It'll never happen. And even if it did, it ignores the disruptive dynamic that sex introduces in units that work in very close proximity for long periods of time. Granted, that's only a small part of the military, but they've been included in all the social experimentation. That's why allowing gays was a bad idea; not because they can't do the job, but because it introduces an aspect that never enhances combat effectiveness and can only damage it.

If we were an honest society the believed in science we would recognize that the vast, VAST majority of women are qualified for a very few, specific roles in the military. None of which are combat related.

And they should be retested yearly. Just because you got in 7 years ago doesnt mean you can weigh 350 pounds and cant function in the environment you are being paid to do.

Regarding the original post I would think that standards should be established for what is necessary to preform the duties that they are there for. Male or female, doesnt matter. They should have to be able to do xx pushups, xx pullups, and run a mile in xx minutes.

And police officers should also be held to that standard. Put down the fricking donut. There is a Tuscaloosa PD motorcycle cop who is about 5'10" and HAS TO weigh at least 400 pounds. Like he has to turn sideways to walk (actually shuffle) through a doorway. A criminal could be on crutches and out run that fatass.
