How many sports allow this?

Football negative
Basketball negative
Boxing negative
MMA negative
Nascar negative
Boxing negative
Cornhole negative

Baseball-Sure thing just get a ticket and glove and you can make become part of the game. Complete bullshite, these frickers reaching into field of play should be tackled by security just as much as an idiot running onto the field in football. MLB wake up and move the fans back.

Whats the difference with Thomas running on the court at an NBA game and blocking Lebron James shot from the side...than Thomas reaching a glove over the out field wall to interfere with OF'er making a play in a MLB game.

fix ya shite MLB

fans aren't really allowed to reach over into the field of play in baseball. It should be an ejection if they did.

Well there's this whole wall thing.
Fans aren't allowed to interfere in baseball unless the ball is out of play (meaning it's beyond the wall and into the seats.)

but they do all the time. which is reason for my post, they shouldn't be able to or even be in a position to interfere.

Wow. You do realize that netting prevents fans from reaching into the field of play for a significant portion of foul territory. You don’t have people interfering by the batter’s eye since there aren’t seats there. A handful of outfield walls are so high, fans can barely contact a player.

This pathetic thread doesn’t deserve any responses anyway, but this one is on the house.

If by “all the time” you mean “very rarely” then sure

And as mentioned above, they aren’t allowed to do it. You get ejected from the park.

I never minded this. I always saw the random jackass running out on the field as a fun side show. Fans are part of the game and sports aren't the same without them. Covid should have made that clear. Without them sports are boring. The many unique fanbases and the passion they have is what makes CFB the best viewer experience out there.

Baseball is almost never ‘field of play’, it’s almost always foul territory. Call that what you want, but the ball is out of the field of play and into the fans. Almost 100% of fan interference in baseball if there was a better differentiation between fans and players, the player would have never had a play anyway. So this argument has always been terrible

ETA: the lack of better separation allows the players a larger area to make a play. How often do players make a catch in the fans? This would never be possible with a better barrier…
