Sounds like more ammo for woody to move on if O puts up a middling season.

The complaint also adds #LSU coach Ed Orgeron as a defendant for failing to report a rape allegation properly.

why is it O's job to report these kinda things? if someone commits a crime you need to report it to the police, not the head football coach at Louisiana State University.

Also of note, "O" Rosy Finch Boyz, LLC was also added as defendant.

The attorneys are going to make these lawsuits look as bad as possible to force a settlement.

Title IX rules aren’t governed by logic.

Say what you want, downvote all you want...it’s exactly the same situation that still got Paterno fired and his statue removed

Think, bro

Girlfriend’s boyfriend told O so O is liable —-really ? I can see if the girlfriend went to O, but I don’t see how you have an obligation to report second hand information.

I mean... no it's not.

Paterno let a serial child rapist rape and abuse children for like 40 years and the rapist was set to serve like 400 years in prison for what he did.

Joe Pa DID know and only told his superiors. That is not even remotely close to the same situation.

It was much less of a "he said she said".

I feel like I’ve def seen that quote here before. This doesn’t seem like anything new.

It's not new. It's recycled news. We know Guice is a scumbag and he is getting his, but one of these accusers unfortunately seems to have significant issues too. She was arrested on drug counts, went to rehab twice and claims she went into hypersexual mode due to the alleged rape. It's possible, but it's also possible that this is her lifestyle and she is looking for $$ now. The Dean of Students contacted her asking if she wanted to open a Title IX investigation back then but she declined.

Guice is a scumbag, so he might have raped her or she might have used that story once her boyfriend found out due to Guice bragging about having sex with her.

Paterno was on the hook for not going to the police, when someone told him they saw Sandusky raping kids in the shower. Paterno didn’t see it first hand. How is this not the same?

Edit: You know what...it’s not the same. Paterno at least told his superiors about the rape. Ed O didn’t seem to care enough to tell anyone.

so let me run thru a likely scenario, girl comes to O and says Guice has been abusing her, now O being a football coach goes and talks to his player and gets *his side* of the story in which he is innocence, so y'all want him to ruin his relationship with one of his players cus a potential jelous girlfriend wants some type of revenge, I just don't know what y'all want O to do in that situation, athletes girlfriends have been trying this for decades now it's nothing new, if she was as serious as she is now she would've went to the PROPER authorities.

Because Paterno, on record, knew about the abuse that took place and only reported it to his "superiors".

There is no proof that Orgeron knew of anything. There is one statement made by the former boyfriend of one plaintiff, that the defendant (Orgeron) has already publicly denied.

They are entirely different situations.

ETA: and there was already an independent investigation that cleared Orgeron of any wrongdoing.

These suits will all be settled long before any depositions are taken. The last thing LSU wants is Coach O, Verge, et al under oath.
