Would it shock you to learn that Texas, and Texans have been not much more than a lot of talk for over a century now?

That maps to percent of state’s citizens in urban vs rural settings

Eh...if this were true, New England would have the highest percentage of gun owners, and they have the least.

I'd love to see that stat broken down even further. That's the percentage of people who own a gun. I bet out of those individuals who responded yes, the large majority of them would say they own multiple.

I don't know that many other folks that own guns here in the Seattle area but the ones I know that do probably average at least a dozen, easily more.

Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming should just be one state and tell the rest of the country to kick rocks.

Texas has a lot of city folks in Houston, Dallas, and Austin. Hell, I would bet Austin's gun ownership is ~15% or less.

I don’t own a gun, but I would if I lived in Alaska. Getting eaten or trampled by wildlife is not on my bucket list.

It's hard for me to understand why you wouldn't have at least one gun stashed away in your home. This is the definition of "I'd rather have and not need than need and not have."

I would bet these numbers are way off, no way to really know what percentage in a state owns guns

Ohio is also surprising. No way Massachusetts has a higher % of gun owners.

Oklahoma is probably the most conservative state in the country and lots of rural areas. That 31% seems low

In Badden Rouge I assume that everyone is carrying at least one.

You should qualify this as people that LEGALLY own guns by state.

Sometimes I wonder how many people have actually been to Texas. The rural areas are not much different than Arkansas/Louisiana/Deep South, and the urban areas are quite left leaning. It’s a no brainer that the gun ownership percentage for the state is going to lag behind the south.
