If you believe the reports about McDonnel and Godwin, along with Bianco taking his name out of the hat and the AD plane heading to Omaha, Vitello is the only one left.

McDonnel or Godwin would've been announced by now as neither is playing ball anymore. I just don't see Corbin coming down, he's built that Vandy program from the ground up and I'd imagine he takes a lot of pride in that. That leaves Vitello.

Honestly, he's not my first choice. But he is a very capable coach with a bit of swagger that high school players are attracted to. Given LSU's resources and recruiting pool, this dude has a massively high ceiling.

Edit: And now O'Connor is out....

Everything you said can fit O'Connor too.

And Johnson.

Meh, I don't think this necessarily means its Vitello. Just means there is a good chance our next coach is currently coaching in Omaha. It could be Johnson, O'Connor, Vitello, or Corbin.

Corbin should want to come just to get away from the damn whistler. That alone is worth half a million in salary.

That means he's been eliminated.

Kinda like what Kim Mulkey did at Baylor. And where did she end up??

I dont think the Omaha trip necessarily means its a guy coaching a team there. Its more like a nice neutral site Woody can meet with a coach or agent without a bunch of people knowing about it. I doubt many guys coaching a team in the world series is going to make time to fish around with job offers in the middle of it. At least not a guy i would want. Now maybe an agent could do it though.

Woodward’s history is being a guy that makes Home Run hires, I.e. Fisher, Mulkey...At this point I think either Vitello or Corbin are the only two left that fit that Bill.

So you really think that a coach would finalize his move right after a tough loss?? I just can’t see that. I think it’s a coach that was off that day, Sunday and maybe even inked it on paper. But due to him still coaching HIS TEAM in Omaha right now nobody knows except a handful of people 2 of them being Scott and said coach. They using the cones of silence on this one baw.

I'm not sure I would write either of them off. It's highly possible they are still under consideration pending the CWS finishing up. Maybe Vitello's agent has been in touch with LSU and is managing inquiries on Vitello's behalf since he is focused on the CWS. He's not going to distract himself with negotiations, but doesn't want to turn it down either.

I am going to assume a day or two after Tenn wins it or is eliminated we will either announce Vitello or Godwin/McDonnel if Vitello turns us down.

I don't believe it. Here in Tennessee he, his Dad, and family seem very much enjoying his career at UT.

I’m not even going to be surprised if woody is able to get Corbin. It would not be the first time he has pulled something like that off

All signs point to Vitello? Not really, all signs are more than likely pointing to Chuck Dees, a name nobody is talking about.

All you did here was to gussy up your opinion as a deduction. The deductive process leaves more than just Vitello in play; then you wrote, "I just don't see..." And that's where we leave logic and enter the mind of ibleedprplngld.
