Really sad, sad example of Minnesota BBQ Ribs

When Justin Ekstrom, Minnesota-based sports writer, went out to dinner the other night, I’m not sure he expected a picture of his plate to go viral. The photo of his rib platter from Linsey’s BBQ in Jordan, Minnesota, generated a lot of online commentary, but it was the kind of commentary you’d expect from motorists at a gapers’ block.

I can't put my finger on if those ribs were boiled or just left in the sun for a week to get that wonderful color.
Maybe both.

I'd be shocked if there is anything other than slat and black pepper in that restaurants kitchen

Nothing about that plate looks good.
That must be the most annoying group chat ever.
quote:
Jemele Hill, writer and former ESPN host, said, “In one of my group chats somebody called this ribs the filibuster and I’ve been laughing for 20 minutes.”

That is just pitiful looking. It's like they popped the meat in a microwave and looked for a shade of gray on the interior and had enough soy and Worcestershire on the outside to give it a brown look.
But, what can you expect from Minnesota.........

I don't know what that sauce is, but those ribs are gonna need WAY more than that little container holds.

For anyone who has done gross anatomy, that is exactly what cadaver tissue looks like

I worked for a technology company in Minneapolis and the food was all the quality of a verging on the edge of bankruptcy Applebee's. Just awful.

Minnesota is full of Scandinavians
One of the signature dishes of that area is the flying Jacob. It consists of chicken, cream sauce, chili’s, peanuts, and bananas
I had it while in Sweden and it was something a drunk kindergartner would come up with.

Looks like a baseball glove.

I think I’d rather eat a shoe. Would probably more tender and have better flavor.

On a fishing trip up there on Leech Lake I introduced my two Minneapolis buddies to pork butts. They wanted to buy $12 a pound steaks. Screw that, we had free charcoal, split oak, and a Weber kettle at the cabin.
They had never eaten slow cooked pork before and were amazed. To this day, they mow slow cook pork on the Weber.

If so that failed also.

Guy failed the first rule of eating at BBQ place. If you don't smell smoke turn around and leave..
