Delta State, West Alabama, and West Florida would be good additions too.

I think UWF should eventually go to FCS. It's insane how much success they've had early on in football

The Southland conference a step below the SWAC... name recognition, attendance, etc...
Most people outside of the region never heard of most the Southland team... the Bayou Classic and Celebration Bowl more important than the D1 playoffs ratings and festivity wise...

Oh, look at the Lafayette fan trying to hold down the other Louisiana schools. In your mind little Southeastern should just know their role and not try to improve their athletic programs, right?

This is why I call out your fan base so much. You guys cry that your school doesn’t get the respect it deserves but spend so much time down looking down your nose at other Louisiana schools as if you are a tier above them.

Maybe SELU can have your spot when you get that call to the Big 12 that y’all think is coming.

Louisiana once again getting left behind. The non-Louisiana schools basically said you're trash and we can do better. Now the Southland is left with adding more trash.

Most people outside of the region couldn't name half of the SWAC either, so what's your point? Hell, that applies to most of the FCS.

You think anyone that doesn't watch FCS knows who Southern Illinois is? Or Northern Colorado? Or that South Dakota has a football team?

Grambling, Southern, FAMU known nationwide ... I said “most” but I should have said “any” team from the Southland... the SWAC itself more recognized than the Southland... that’s not up for debate

Every Southland team would break a attendance record hosting a SWAC team... hell same goes for the SUNBELT

conference games on the bluff and at grambling with the colonels, demons and lions would dramatically increase waning attendance - in all sports

Not a chance. Strictly in athletics, the SWAC is nowhere near the SLC. There's no name recognition really outside of diehard fans, and you are fooling yourself if you think there is.

Again bullshite. The only claim the Bayou Classic has is it is on NBC, but the FCS has opening weekend on ESPN and the title game on ESPN. With ESPN+ every SLC game can be seen by anyone.

I get Sam leaving the SLC because they always have thought they are bigger than they are, and SFA has to follow in their footsteps, but they are making a dumb decision going to the WAC. Can't wait to see how much money they lose over the next few years. UCA going to the ASun is actually a solid move, and I wish SLU could tag along.

It wouldn't. You think you are getting a large group of fans to go tailgate and spend any significant time in North Baton Rouge or drive all the way to North Louisiana? No chance.

You're tripping. The SWAC has more current NFL players than the Southland.

SWAC 19
Southland 12

Grambling alone has 5 and will be 6 with the Lineman that just signed with Carolina.
