You're sleep. Every morning you see Micheal Strahand on Good Morning America. I can fire off a crap load of Former Players, Hall of Famers and Current players from the swac that are well known.
Don't let your bias continue to keep you blind to the truth.
SWAC attendance is far better than Southland, game day experience is better, name recognition is better . . . . I think Gram has a winning record against the Southland also.
Men lie, women lie, children lie . . . . the numbers don't lie.

You're tripping. The SWAC has more current NFL players than the Southland.
There’s a reason the MEAC and SWAC don’t participate in the FCS playoffs

By a quick google search as of 2019, there were 11 Southland conference players on nfl rosters to 7 SWAC players. In the last 2 drafts southland had 4 players drafted to the SWACs 1. So I dont think hes right. I didnt dive too deep into the search tho.

Grambling, Southern, FAMU known nationwide ... I said “most” but I should have said “any” team from the Southland... the SWAC itself more recognized than the Southland... that’s not up for debate
Lmao! Ever heard of McNeese?
The fact is, if you asked ANY fan that doesn't pay attention to the FCS (likely the majority of college football fans) to name a team from any FCS conference other than the Ivy League, the vast majority couldn't name one. And that includes the SWAC.
Now if they called it the HBCU League, different story.

Dude, no one gives a frick about Ryan Street High School. They haven't mattered in football in 15 years.

I get Sam leaving the SLC because they always have thought they are bigger than they are, and SFA has to follow in their footsteps, but they are making a dumb decision going to the WAC. Can't wait to see how much money they lose over the next few years.
If they are able move the WAC back into FBS football as planned it's going to be a great move for them and they will make a lot more money than they would in the Southland.

While I agree with you, that wasn't my point.
If this discussion were about relevancy in college football, then it would be a moot point. Neither the SWAC nor the Southland are relevant on the larger landscape of college football.
But that's not what we are talking about. He tried to make a point that no one could name a Southland team. While I agree with that as well (for the reasons previously stated), if you asked people if they've heard of McNeese, you would find people that have. This is a program that has played big FBS schools close, has the largest margin of victory by an FCS school over an FBS school, and was (at one point) a National Title contender. Those days are long gone, but the name on the jersey is still there. The logo is still the same.
Either way, this whole discussion is pointless. No SWAC team is leaving that conference and giving up their precious Bayou Classic and Celebration Bowl.

I mean you can tune in and see Robin Roberts a former SLC athlete. That isn’t pertinent to the current state of the athletics of each conference.

Oh, look at the Lafayette fan trying to hold down the other Louisiana schools. In your mind little Southeastern should just know their role and not try to improve their athletic programs, right?
Doesn’t FBS football have certain facility requirements (like stadium capacity etc)? Does Southeastern even meet that?

These Louisiana schools are fricked.
If they are truly desperate, they could lobby the state to allow UNO to field a football team.
UNO could play at Gormley, schedule La. College in Pineville and Tulane.
That would be 8 games.

The big issue with the new WAC is that besides SHSU NMSU and possibly SFA the rest of the teams are not even close to FBS ready
Lamar is donkey shite in basically every sport
ACU was a D2 team 4 years ago
The two Utah schools will never be ready
Most of the other programs in there are D2 move ups from last year basically or utpa who is going to add football in 4 years.
If SHSU wanted it they should have just gone Indy like liberty
Additionally everyone should know by now to never go west
No one cares about the PAC 12 who is gonna give a frick about this league

Not sure what SWAC has to gain by joining. SLC may have to raid DII teams from Lone Star Conference

It doesn't matter if Joe Blow Tiger Droppings poster gives a shite. FBS schools make more money than FCS schools. Period. End of discussion.

Two years ago, I would have supported swapping Southeastern for ULM. But now it seems ULM does have a renewed commitment to athletics.
Their baseball team has improved every season since 2017, and football has freaking Terry Bowden as head coach and Rich Rod as OC.
