Damn thats terrible and random. He was one of the GOAT college qbs. They did get washed by GA that one time, but other than that that Hawaii offense was fun as hell to watch.

Always sad to see a young man go. Looks like he was trying to get the help

He's been in rehab/recovery for a while. Much more likely that he had been clean then relapsed with a dosage he was taking previously and his body had lost its tolerance level.

So sad to hear this. Colt and that Hawaii team, are one of the reasons why that 2007 season was such a fun season to watch. I remember my friends and I going in the front yard to play football many times during that season, and would act like Colt Brennan if we were the QB. That sidearm throw he had was so amazing to us and we would try to replicate it.

RIP Colt

Very sad. I’ll say college football Saturdays are a little more fun when an 11pm Hawaii game matters. It’s like you got one extra game.

I didn’t think that many people were unaware that Hawaii is riddled with meth

If he OD’d it probably wasn’t from meth. Sounds like an opioid relapse. Happens way to often. Guy is trying to get himself right. Tryin go to do the right thing but slips up in a moment of weakness and dies because of it. One of the most tragic ways to go IMO.

I saw him live in that 2006 game versus BSU. They finally had a competitive game in that stadium. Brennan threw for 5 touchdowns and it was incredible action for a WAC game. Ryan Clady, Ian Johnson, Scandrick, Kyle Wilson, Nanee, Gerald Alexander, Daryn College, and Derek Shuoman were all on that BSU team and were drafted. Had some players from my high school on the roster. Their most talented team bar none in their schools history.

I was a huge Hawaii cheerleader because I hated BSU fans and their Napoleon syndrome during those years.

Me too! We went to Panic the night before and I drove us through the night to New Orleans and we kept the party going.

So much fun.

Really sad to hear. Those Hawaii teams with Brennan, Davone Bess and Ryan Grice-Mullen were so fun to watch in broad daylight at 10pm.

Dude was tough as nails. I have never seen a QB get hit harder than he did in the Sugar Bowl against Georgia but he always got up. Fun team, but I actually thought their 2006 team was better.

He also came within inches of getting smoked in the face by a water bottle full of some thing one of the few times they actually got near the end zone. He actually took a brutal sack on that play, me and my friends that were there wondered if he didn’t get distracted by the water bottle almost smoking him. Nobody watching on TV seemed to see it when I mentioned it after the game
