Bonanza is made by Chuck Wagner (owner of Caymus) and under $20. I like it

Daou can be found for under $20 from what I recall at Costco but google shows it as $21.97 at Total Wine, FYI

Interested to hear others favorites under $20

Bonanza (made by the family that brings you Caymus) can be had for $17 at Total Wine.

Earthquake Cabernet for about $17 at Total Wine, more expensive elsewhere.

Harvester Cabernet for $19.99 at Total Wine

The Pessimist from Dao, Red Blend, also under $20.

You want a cabernet under $20.00 and your favorite wine is Caymus. Bonanza is just under $20.00. It is made by the Camus people in the same style as Caymus. The big difference is the quality of the grapes. The Bonanza grapes come from from vineyards that are not nearly as exclusive as Caymus' vineyards.

Martin's Wine Cellar Bin series. Apparently excess grapes from well known but anonymous wine producers. Amazing value.

I don't drink much wine, but when I do it is the reds I prefer. I like B&G wines in Cabernet and Cabernet/Sauvignon when I feel like a red wine.

Reasonably priced and tastes just fine to me.

Liberty Creek. You can actually buy three bottles for $21.

Real answer is Earthquake. It's under $20 at Total Wine.

If you like Caymus buy Bonanza.

It’s their cheap cab.

Super good. Vintage so you don’t have to worry about it being a young bottle.

Also you can get it lol 15.99 at Zapardos.

Caymus is overrated for the price. Not worth it IMO

J. Lohr Paso Robles is my favorite right now and I believe it’s $12-14

So many different cabs. Hard to find much in napa for under 20. Whether or not it's worth it is a completely unanswerable question. The Washington cabs are really nice if you like fruit forward, something softer. You won't get the tannins like the paso cabs but beauty is in eye of beholder, or taste buds for this soliloquy. Ask the guy at whatever wine shop you frequent to give you some ideas. They may even have some tasting if you go to one in a decent area.

Carmen Gold Reserve ($17.99) is fantastic.

Also, anyone with a Total Wine around them: The front of the store to the right (or it's that way in Houston heights location) has all the highly rated wines together. Ranging from $8-200. Most are around $10-30. It's basically a cliff notes for the entire store. Wife and I have had some fantastic stuff in the $15 range. Really cool concept.

$20 or close enough to list

Joel Gott 815
Alexander Valley Cab
Educated Guess (Napa, North Coast is bad)
Any of the Kirkland Signature Series Cabs

I’m going a different route than others here regarding Bonanza, it’s an attempt to make shite grapes taste like Caymus. It’s awful.
