I don’t personally own this model but would if I was buying a new grill tomorrow. I own the RT 700 and love it but honestly think the RT-B380X BULLSEYE DELUXE would fit my needs 99% of the time and arguably performs better, especially temp range wise. To name a few of the specs:

App
380 Sq. In cooking space
Front folding shelf
Ash dumper
200-1000 degree temps
18 pound hooper and cooking time
Second to none customer service

You said wood grill and beginner so I come in peace and don’t mean to start a charcoal, wood, pellet battle ha. If you meant more traditional wood style grill then ignore me.

Man thanks for the info. That's really helpful

Anytime. Let us know how it all goes. I’m hoping to go next year like I said so might steal a page out of your playbook haha. Y’all enjoy

I’m a Breeze fan. I would not hesitate to book it. I’ve flown them 5 times or so and haven’t had a bad experience. It’s a more budget friendly airline but not Spirit by any means. Staff was awesome, seats were nice, and got me from A to B at a great price

The only issue I’ve had friends run into was canceling a flight they had booked once about 2 months before the originally scheduled flight and not offering an alternative. This was earlier and I think Breeze has worked out the kinks on that and figured out which routes make sense for their business model so hopefully those days are behind them

As said above, don’t do infield if you can swing that. I still think you can/would have a blast, but assuming you are ~33ish with the 1989 username, I’d try and go the non-infield ticket route. Infield is more debauchery geared towards younger adults/college IMO

I’ve never been to Friday Kentucky Oaks but know many people who have and they have all said it’s a blast. Everyone wears pink for breast cancer awareness and the fillies race. I’m hoping to attend next year

Actual Derby race, break out your best fun suit and bring cash ha. Covered seating is great but if it’s a good day weather wise, uncovered is great too, maybe better depending on your ticket site line

The Seelbach downtown is an old school hotel with cool history and great location. The Omni is a similar location but really nice with a cool bar/bowling alley

Jeff Ruby’s is amazing but I’d imagine that week/weekend booked up already. I also really enjoy Pat’s steakhouse. Old school vibe place

You can do the bourbon trail closer towards Lexington, KY and even some distilleries closer in Louisville

I’m not a veteran by any means but happy to try and answer/comment on anything else you might have. Regardless, it’s an awesome experience and y’all will have a blast

Just be ready for a very long day. One of those things I can say I did but never want to do again

I did it when I was ~20 and do not recommend it. I was warned by my folks to not go who also didn’t enjoy it years earlier. The friends I went with now joke and we all call it the road to Hell

I felt like there are plenty of great views closer to not have to be in the car for 8 hours to drive to a place where they essentially have like 2 restaurants that serve ham sandwiches

Also, my idea of an activity on a vacation is not being trapped in a car all day. More of a beach and beer or hike outside/activities personality so that obviously plays into my dislike of it

Anyways, looks like I’m in the minority and Hawaii is beautiful so the trip will be amazing
Herbsaint as mentioned. Desi Vegas Steakhouse but know you said seafood. I like Peche as well. Those are the top 3 that initially come to mind close by. Happy anniversary

Was very impressive upscale Mexican

This and honestly, not bad prices either. Big fan of El Barrio. Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for the review. I’m going this Wednesday in Birmingham. Tickets say the show starts at 7:30PM.

Does anyone come on before 7:30PM? About how long did the show last? Just trying to figure out the logistics side of things and don’t want to miss anything. TIA

When I was there it was part of a long open-ended trip through Colombia so context is very different, but I felt like 3 days was the perfect amount of time for Cartagena. It's kinda like being in New Orleans. Most of what there is to do is walk around eat and drink.

Thanks. This is very helpful. We are actually planning to do 2 nights at a nearby place on the beach. Haven’t booked that leg of the trip yet but glad to hear 3 days in Cartagena isn’t too much. Appreciate it!
Echo Go Crazy’s thoughts. Good spot. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you are looking for a good poboy with a casual vibe.

Great spot to watch Saints games on Sundays as well. They aren’t usually open on Sunday unless the Saints are playing.

Following. Thinking about going in the spring. Is 3 full days too much or just right to see what you want in Cartegena?

Any can’t miss tours, restaurants, or bars? TIA
I am wanting to go Sub70 route on my next new set of irons (next 2 years or so). Excuse the ignorance, but how did you get “fitted”?

Did you do the online height and club distance questionnaire? My fear is I won’t get put into the right club specs versus doing an in person fitting. I am not a pro by any means (~5HCP) and do like the 60 day money back guarantee. I travel to some of the cities that have in person fitting sites so that could be an option as well.

Appreciate any insight and hope you hit them long and straight!

ETA: or did you do a fitting in person for the other clubs you mentioned and kinda back into it that way with Sub70?

Depending on carrier, they may or may not do an interior inspection. For exterior only inspections, you usually never know they were there unless there was an underwriting issue with existing damage, liability hazards, or roof condition

This happened to me. I secured my policy with the carrier, disclosed all info, and maybe 45 days later (can’t recall exact number of days) they informed me someone inspected the roof from the ground and it had minor damage. I had to get it repaired, take pictures, and have a receipt of service from a licensed roofer

Wasn’t the end of the world and they worked with me timeline wise. It was damage due to Ida a few months before as I had just replaced it not 6 months before Ida. The roofer who did the work was great and kinda thought the insurance company was being nitpicky with the “damage” they reported. I tried pushing back with the insurance carrier but they basically politely said I needed to fix it to their liking or my policy would be canceled. In short, got it fixed, took pictures, provided receipt, and I was back in good standing with the carrier

That’s my two cents. I’ve often wondered as well if they ever had come out to inspect in the past but they definitely did this time

Good for her. Loved Royal China. Staple for my family when I was growing up. Can’t wait to check out her new spot.

We're staying in Homewood. Just need somewhere for Friday evening and Saturday for lunch. Thanks for all the info! I'll start looking at some of these spots.

Went to Soho Social in Homewood a few weeks ago with my cousin, his young kids, and some other family. They have corn hole, connect 4, and some other misc. games outside for kids

They don’t take reservations (95% sure) but we showed up with 10 or so and got a big table inside for Sunday dinner. Good food and atmosphere. Also, had some good beers on tap. Hope this helps

ETA: here’s the website Soho Social

It is 1oz of talstar to 1 gallon of water.

Thank you very much. I definitely did more than 1oz of talstar…. Haha. Going to retry soon

ETA: I think I have bifen chemicals but same difference
I tried the Bifen in my Ryobi sprayer and it was too thick. Probably user error admittedly. I’m going to try the Bifen again but cut it a lot more with water and we shall see

I did find some cutter spray meant for backpacks at HD that worked pretty well for me. Good luck

re: Fairhope, AL Restaurants

I’ve only been to Thyme for lunch. It was solid. Never been to Gambino’s or Sunset so I’m little help there

Bone and Barrel is a good place to grab a beer after dinner downtown and they typically have live music

Camellia Cafe is probably my favorite downtown “fancy” restaurant with a good atmosphere

Wash House is great too but not downtown technically but not too far either. I’d recommend it

Fairhope Inn and Char 32 are also good. Char 32 is like Wash House location wise and not downtown

Mcsharry’s is another solid casual place to grab a beer after dinner

Red or White is a good place downtown to go before dinner to grab an appetizer and glass of wine. Pizza is also phenomenal. It’s kinda a wine store/bar with a handful of tables

Flybar is another solid smaller casual bar to grab a drink at

Bucky’s Lounge at The Grand has a good burger and bar. Might even be able to sit outside if the breeze is going

I’ll shut up now since you said y’all are there for just the weekend. Fairhope is great. Y’all will have a blast

There was a really cool PDF another poster posted awhile back with a detailed flow of decisions that I recall being spot on. I may have bookmarked….will check tomorrow.

Would like to see that too but I find JPM’s Guide to Retirement they put out each year very helpful. Each year I just Google “JPM Guide to Retirement 2022” and the PDF pops up on Google. Some great stuff in it
