Did they start coming under Clinton or GW Bush?
I'm thinking Bush but it may have been Clinton that opened the gates and Bush cared not to close.

I believe they peaked during the Bush years around 2007

When we started giving them welfare, food stamps, free education, child care, tax credits, etc. as soon as they put one foot over the f*cking border.

Most people forget that Lyndon Johnson had 4, not 3, monumentally destructive policy “wins” as president:
1. Great Society (cradle to grave entitlements)
2. Civil Rights Act (fighting discrimination based on race not by outlawing discrimination but by mandating it)
3. Escalation in Vietnam
4. Ted Kennedy’s Immigration reform
Post 60’s immigration reform and Great Society, migrant workers from Latin America replaced poor whites and African Americans as the primary source for manual farm labor. Hispanic populations have steadily increased ever since. Those immigration reforms essentially turned opened America up to the third world and closed our borders to European immigrants.

I remember experiencing it as long back as 1984 or 1985

Immigration and Nationality act of 1965 under LBJ
There had been tight control over immigration from WWI-Roaring 20s-Depression-WWII and the start of the Baby Boom. Johnson decided we needed to open up for cheap labor and 56 years later here we are.
