They've saved me in the past so I won't badmouth them but love might be a strong word.

A fellow in grad school (initials BM) loved the 'juice with fat' that came out of the can. He'd happily drain everyone's cans into his empty, so we wouldn't waste any of the good part (his pronouncement).

Wonder if he's still alive?

Naw, hard pass on “Potted Meat Product”.

Haven’t had Vienna Sausages or SPAM for decades.

The old man wouldn’t let SPAM in the house because Uncle Sam made him eat it cold for over a month straight.

I thought it was exotic because we weren’t having it at home.

Turns out it’s not.

I eat the shite out of Sardines. Kinda probably literally, upon further consideration.

No. Would rather have sardines packed in hot sauce or mustard.

Haven't eaten them in probably 50+ years, and even longer for potted meat, but did eat them up till my late teens.

Another canned meat I really didn't ever like is Spam. I may have eaten it a couple times as a young kid, but never since then.

Vienna sausages were completely inedible, something had to be done... That's why Frank's red hot sauce was invented, and the world rejoiced.

When I was merely a boy I was treated to many a vienna sausage sandwich.....fresh, soft white bread, viennas sliced lengthwise, copious amounts of miyo-nnaise. Still partake from time to time.

Delchamps Grocery carried a Cardinal brand “imitation” Vienna Sausage in BBQ sauce.
Never tried it. Would just grab some Amours next to it.
