Whether in your hometown or travels abroad, where was the best place you ever went for BBQ?

Snow’s BBQ in Lexington, TX. Their pitmaster is an 85 year old lady named Tootsie. Everything is incredible. It’s in the middle of nowhere, but well worth the trek.

This joint in westlake: Jeanne’s Bourbon Street BBQ
LINK /

The brisket is worth a trip out there! It's also a pretty weird/cool building as it's a food truck that they have built a permanent structure around. The "Kitchen" is still the truck.

Murky Waters in Gulfport. I've had and made some great bbq, but nothing's topped that.

I haven’t done any of the real Texas pantheons, so my choices are a bit skewed, but I enjoyed my meal at Stubbs in Austin many years ago and the Pit Room in Houston more recently.

However, the best barbecue restaurant meal I’ve had was at Buxton Hall in Asheville. They do a whole hog pork plate that was fabulous and do mussels cooked in a pot under the hog that is one of the 10 best dishes I’ve ever had. Really enjoyed the place, even though I realize it’s not likely to make most such ‘Best Ever’ ratings lists.
