I can handle taking a test to get into another country (I have done that twice), but frick taking one to come back. It probably would be a pain in the arse to arrange a test and who wants to risk being identified as positive for COVID in a foreign country?

IMO, the world needs to mandate or incentivize the vaccines that are being distributed. Make employers require it of their employees; allow people to travel around the world if they've had one; you don't get your $1,400 until you get a shot; or whatever else. We have been dealing with this shite for almost a year now. Let's all vaccinate and people who are vulnerable need to just stay the frick home.

Out of curiosity... Because you don't want this particular vaccine or your aren't for government forced vaccines?

Then what the frick are we going to do? We have been wearing masks and having our freedom significantly limited for ten damn months with no end in sight.

I wish the politicians would say, "Hey, we have a vaccine. If you want it, go get it. It's your choice. But we're opening everything back up." But that ain't happening. We're going to have to wait until the numbers reach a certain point and that's going to take frickin' forever while those of us with some youth left are watching sand run through the hourglass instead of out having fun and enjoying our lives to the fullest.

One way or another it's time for these limitations to end. Either let us roll or mandate these vaccines and let's knock this shite out. Anything in between isn't going to do it any time soon and this lasted far too long already.

So we don’t know the number of days to quarantine yet?

LINK /

Final details of the quarantine requirement for air travel are still being worked on, and will be crafted based on recommendations from the Department of Health and Human Services, the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Biden is asking these agencies to submit their recommendations on quarantine length — as well as the type and timing of acceptable testing for travel — to his administration within 14 days.

The Biden administration is also specifically asking the agencies to consider and make recommendations on issues like possible testing fraud, and how to handle entry for passengers traveling from countries where tests may not be readily available.

So you can drive into border and get in without testing and quarantining?

The US borders with Mexico and Canada are still closed by land if I'm not mistaken. The closure doesn't apply to air travel.

Again, so how are they going to enforce this? You fly home, get off the airplane, go to your car, and then what? They going to follow you home?

How is this anything but virtue signaling and impeding American Citizens for zero gain?

look at how many of you morons wear masks everywhere.
We can tell the american people to wear a mask and quarantine and all this other stupid shite and they comply, but we can't tell them to stop committing crimes and get them to comply.
People are stupid.

That's basically what they're doing. It's not like everyone can just go get a vaccine in one day. They're manufacturing them as fast as they can and giving them to front line workers and the most vulnerable first. The number I've seen from the CDC is 70%+ vaccinated and we'll have "herd immunity." That's approx 231 million people. It's just not possible to have 231 million people vaccinated in the snap of a finger. It takes months, especially when the two vaccines at this point are two doses that will take around 6 weeks total to take full effect. Hopefully by July/August we'll be getting very close to that number. I sure hope so because I have a trip to southern Utah planned that I had to reschedule from last May.

And the data still isn't there to show that you can't carry the virus if you're vaccinated. So, you may be vaccinated and go to a country that has very few vaccinations, get it without symptoms because you're already vaccinated and pass it on to an untold number of people in that country. I've seen some data on the Moderna vaccine possibly making it so that those that are vaccinated can't get it, but it's still too early to tell.

And just because you want to travel, that means all those retired folks who want to travel too have to sit at home? My parents have had to cancel two big trips due to this. You don't think they want to live their lives too? They have much less time left than you, so you better believe they want this to be over fast. That's an incredibly selfish way to look at this.

I don't necessarily subscribe to the idea that if one action is "selfless," a perceived opposite action is "selfish."

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.

Then they should probably do what they want. Don’t stay locked in doors for fear of the sniffles.
