This whole executive order shite makes no sense. We got word at DAL that the gov't affairs team says this is legit, and now we have to be even more so the mask police. They say it is federal LAW, but it's being enforced by the TSA? Although technically Air Marshals fall under the TSA, so perhaps they are considered law enforcement? Regardless it's stupid and makes a horrible situation worse IMO.

What's your question? It would be up to the hotel. But if your question is do you get a comped stay on Uncle Sam the answer is no.

This is bullshite. I have a dive trip to the Caribbean scheduled for June. My second dose of the vaccine is next week. I’m not going to quarantine when I get back. We need to get on with our lives.
And me wearing a mask at that point is stupid.

I just returned to the United States from an international trip. There is no way to enforce the quarantine regulation. It's meaningless.

Ya, that was expected when they announced it. There's no manpower or tracking system to make it work.

The airline at check-in. It was never requested or even mentioned at customs once we arrived in the United States.

Of course you would have to pay for your additional hotel stay. That's what travel insurance is for. That's the risk you take while traveling when there are rules in place.

Back when Texas was requiring quarantine for people coming in from LA, the local PD actually showed up to my buddy's house to make sure his gf was home. Granted she could have been sleeping. Not sure if they would have gotten a warrant

My hope (not that I like this) is that this administration wants to look like they stopped this virus, so we should prepare for lots of dumb shite to come down the pipe. You can't claim you were why something happened without "doing something."
In order to claim victory, they will have to lift these dumb rules as well. Since it's the government, you can't expect that to be fast, but perhaps due to wanting credit, they will lift relatively quickly.
It sucks.
