Good thing I booked my trip to Isla three weeks ago . I could put up with getting a test before coming back but there is no way in hell I am going to quarantine when I get back nor can they enforce it.

Seems like there's no issue if you get the vaccine?

I think the quarantine thing is an immaterial requirement. There's no way that's enforceable even if it was legal

Does anyone know if this affects the USVI?

Not if it follows the lines of the order going into effect next week.

Even if you got vaccine, still need a negative test... unless you had virus, then you’re good.

frick the dog and pony show. I’m so tired of the virtue signaling bullshite.

Correct. A lot of time for things to play out and change. My room is refundable until like the day before but I am not sure on my flights. I used American airlines covid credits through chase to book my flights so does anyone know if those can be cancelled or change without cost? May need to start look at a trip stateside for the same time.

Hi everyone! Bit of a lurker, but thought I would come here for some info.

I was hoping to plan a surprise trip to an all-inclusive resort using a bunch of Marriott Points I have. Due to Marriott only have resorts in Barbados and Costa Rica, we had to do CR since Barbados would basically keep us quarantined our entire trip.

It doesn't look too bad to get into CR, I need travel insurance that comes out to be like $40 for a 6 day trip (Does that sound right?): LINK

But now I am concerned about getting back into the States. How do I coordinate a test in CR?

Will I have to quarantine for two weeks when I get back (That isn't going to happen for my work)?

Should I expect even more ridiculous requirements from this new admin?

Should I just write this trip off as too much trouble and go to Florida or something?

Does your work not already have a COVID travel policy? I'm remote so it doesn't matter, but if I wasn't I'd have to bake that in somehow, by either taking more days off or going remote if possible.

Lots of research and/or book a really nice hotel for your stay or last few days. They will probably be able to lead you to the right place.

Has he not been on a plane lately. You are already required to wear masks on planes domestically.
I could GAF about requiring people coming into the country to quarantine. Would be better to show they've had a negative test 72 hours prior to travel like how Hawaii does it.

I believe those were airline initiated. While that has no practical effects right now it makes sure they can't remove those requirements until the Feds allow them to. That means those requirements will stick around even longer most likely. I'm not sure how it would affect foreign airlines operating into the US, but it would likely apply to them as well which could cause them to up their requirements on flights heading to/from the US.

It may also force them to change some things, for instance, Delta and many foreign airlines allow children to not wear masks after age 2 while other airlines don't. That could change.

You know this will not apply to government officials. They will fly with the POTUS and they will not quarantine for 14 days.

The Mrs. and I booked a trip to Cabo in May, there is no way the can enforce a 14 day quarantine upon our return with a negative test. Two days in and this guy can

Speaking of airlines, United was going hard on Biden’s D the other day... posting all kinds of crap to social media. They are positioning themselves for that bailout.

Yes, this helps. I am just hoping that the new President doesn’t make any other changes for the worse.
