I heard Bobby Hebert tell a story about retiring. He said when he started out he would hurt bad on Monday and by Tuesday, he was back ready to go. In his last year it was Saturday, he had to start against the Cowboys the next day and he said he was hurting bad still like he had played the day before. He knew it was time to go.

To be fair, Bobby Heberts idea of of recovery in between those games was probably just a hefty dose of bud heavy and sleeping on the couch

Different world these days when it comes to athletes recovering

Torn rotator cuff

And yet STILL a better option than Jameis....?

Personally, if they think a healed rotator cuff will allow him to hit the deep ball again, I would not at all be surprised if he gives it one more year.

nah I think he's done, his body is done.

He's been relatively injury free while in NOLA, except these last 3 years where he's constantly battling injuries.

I wonder how many of those I could tie directly to Peat...

Why continue to play after two major injuries like that? The man doesn’t have anything left to prove and the Saints super bowl window is closing fast due to salary cap

Yeah, if it's his throwing shoulder, which I assume it is, it'll take even more velocity and endurance away from his arm. He might not throw a pass further than 5 yards if he comes back

He'll have to get Tom Brady to come over just to play catch with his kids.

And maybe kiss them on the lips.

All more reasons for him to retire.

Exactly. Trying to come back and play at a level that is anywhere close to Drew Brees level after the injuries that he has suffered in the last two seasons at his age is almost impossible.

She's probably just defending her husband and tired of ppl talking shite about him.

His body is done. He's retiring.

Sounds like Saban was correct to put pressure on the Dolphins medical team regarding Brees' rotator cuff. Saban is always correct eventually.

Why was he playing if can’t throw well. Put himself above team. Hill was out he must have thought he would be better then Jamis.

Some of y'all are mental. It may be time for him to go, but you have to be an asshat if you can't celebrate what he did for the Saints.
