I mean this for sure isn’t going to just last a year but I also don’t see the big deal. The league needs to find a way to make up lost revenue and it doesn’t change the game at all.

Your response doesnt make any sense with my post.

Also, the whole "a company did a thing so it has to make sense" argument is odd.

I said no to your question.

And my point about Honda was they must think enough NHL fans need Ridgelines to get thru the snow, that they are spending money to have their name attached. Not that hard to understand. Will it, probably not, but most marketing dollars are throw away dollars. Look at SB ads.

My question you quoted was "Is anyone going to buy a Pilot because of this?"

and you said "No but Honda does."

that doesnt make sense lol

frick the NHL

these new divisions are garbage. NO ONE gives a frick about LA, SJ,PHO,etc. And 9pm starting times for literally 2/3 of division.

Stupid as hell

Toronto traveling to Buffalo is way too dangerous but Minnesota and St Louis playing 75% of their road games in California, Arizona and Nevada is quite fine

No, but the repetition could easily make me think of researching a Honda before I research a Toyota, defacto making it the car brand I compare the others to.

That is disappointing, but predictable. Ads are also going to be on some team's helmets.

This is pretty basic. Why do you think Coca-Cola advertises? Or McDonald's? It's not just for fun. Yeah everyone knows them. But by seeing an ad, it creates a craving, and if you consume sodas/fast food, and don't necessarily have a favorite then next time you're buying that's what you're getting.

No possible effects from not advertising while your competitor keeps their name out there?

If Coca-Cola just stopped putting out any sort of advertising, but Pepsi continued to do so, would that not have any effects on consumer perception of each brand?

Maybe the way of the future in American sports

Younger demographics sponsored by: Xbox, Playstation, etsy, and Tesla. Middle aged demographics sponsored by Facebook, Chevy, LG, and Zillow. Old demographics sponsored by GE, Cadillac, Metamucil, and Good RX.

All teams will have ads on the helmets instead of their team logo. The NHL is already one giant ad as soon as you enter the arena. And all hockey situations have sponsors during the game itself. But, we needed ads on helmets, right where the team logo used to be.

I read 14 teams will have ads on helmets. I am buying my jersey soon before they get plastered with shitty ads next.

The Skybet Championship is the former English Football League Championship, the division beneath the Premier League. The Premier League has no sponsor in its name

Unrelated but should be fun to watch...

The NHL has 2 outdoor games scheduled for Lake Tahoe in late February.

Feb. 20: VGK vs. Colorado.

Feb. 21: Boston vs. Philadelphia. LINK

If they reduce the number of commercial breaks, cover every inch of the players and stadium in ads.
It's cute that you think this is give and take. This is just in addition to.

I’ve always thought it would be fascinating to actually see this play out. I think in the short term they’d save a lot of money, but in the long term it would be a disaster
