Low track pushes too much warm air into South Louisiana and I don't see much reason for that track to dip a lot farther south. Maybe if the trough digs a little deeper but the best temperature gradient is going to be near the coast and that's where the low is going to track.

Central LA might get a pretty good band out of it though, nice cold front setting up at 700 mb that will provide some lift and some warm air being funnelled in to a region with cold enough temps at that level for snow growth. Wouldn't be surprised for someone to overperform 6" (heh).

considering it's been 12 hours since there was a post in this thread, one can say the resident meteorologists here have already written off any realistic snow chances.

Well us in Texas very pumped for the biggest storm since 2010. Huge area generally along I-20 look to get over 6 inches with isolated amounts over a foot where convective storms persist. Looks to one for the record books especially in southern North Texas and East Texas.

The GFS at least brought the moisture back onto land. This gives us an outside chance.

I appreciate that but if you have ever seen how accurate meteorologists are then a friendly bump isn’t the worst thing. Also there were some other events that may have moved this down on the relative priority scale.

Stephenville, TX says “frick You” to the meteorologist who created this map.

The town is overrun with Aggies hoping to get 7.9”.

Apparently “the white stuff is coming” means something different in College Station.

No. Too warm down here. State line north is where it starts to get interesting. That's my read until we have the pieces forming instead of just watching models.

I saw a graphic of a model showing 6-8 inches in the central MS delta region?

Is that possible?
