Served it up twice the last couple days and no one took the bait. Its northeast BR which is a little different than NBR.

Bucks only
Walked way the hell back here in some flooded woods and set up in my climber. Apparently some duck hunters beat me back here even though I didn’t see any other trucks. They’re done shooting their woodies and now just walking about and talking real loud about 100 yards from me.
I need a lease.

Just had a nice buck come in to grunts. Young deer about 17” wide with 8” G2s with little crab claws that made him an 8pt. Never had him on camera but look forward to him hanging around another year or two

40 degrees in a box stand.
Step broke on a different stand yesterday and I fell 10 feet or so into a mud hole. May have re-injured a separated shoulder from 2019 and have other minor. Gun was buried in mud underneath me. Lucky I had a cleaning kit at camp. Going to need a professional cleaning this week though.

I did check it, it was still on. The mud hole must have softened the blow for it too.

Ladder stand in an old river bottom

Let the air out of a nice 8 point last night.

Sitting in the woods more than hunting this morning.

Dropped a doe this morning at 150 yards. Saw a total of 5 does but no bucks chasing.

Grabbed my almost 4 year old out of bed when I got back and he was super excited when I told him I got a doe. He came and ‘helped’ me load her up. You woulda thought I shot a record book buck by his excitement. This is the first one he’s seen on the ground and is excited to help clean it. He told me he was so proud of me, such a great moment

Was grabbing my rifle to head back to the house when a nice little doe walked by about 50 yds away. Am skinning her out now.

Good deal Spookey! It was pretty icy and my buddy busted his arse coming off the porch New Year's day. Us old farts don't bounce like we use to.
