The only way Ed's on thin ice is possibly due to Ed being more culpable on the Title IX violations than we know about. This season, given the number of circumstances and the way LSU finished this year Ed gets a pass. However if you separate the Title IX stuff from the season and if the Title IX stuff is worse than we know it could be bad for Ed.
Yep. That was my point.
That if Ed's really deep in the Title IX mosh pit, then someone may have leaked it to Napier that he's at the top of the list.
Nothing more than raw speculation on a forum. No sauces.

Dabo will not go to ALabama and follow Saban! He may be a redneck hick but he isn't stupid. The guy that follows the legend always is unsuccessful, especially with that delusional fan base. He might "rescue" Bama after the successor "fails" in the eyes of the supporters, who already are PO'ed every year Saban isn't in the Natty.

Napier needs to show he can do it against power 5 competition before he’d get the LSU job.

"CFB within 3 yrs"? It's safe to say, odds makers - wise, that bama, Clemson & O.State will continue to be in the CFB for a while. That would leave an opening for one more team. Fla. UGA aggies from the SEC alone will be in the fight every yr. Throw in one team...Okla...from the Big 12, another from the PAC 1...Oregon is re-building again ...and where does the Sun Belt Champion fit in a rational discussion?

Did Orgeron show he can do it against power 5 competition before he got the LSU job?

"Ummmmmmmm": look at the stats of that game: USL had 2 kick returns & a long 80 +yd pass for 3 of its TD. Absent the long pass, USL rang up approx. 190 yards of total offense. Those points count of course but the score is in no way indicative of how USL played in that game. And to get to the CFP as an "outsider", your strength of schedule has to be off the charts. Sun Belt Conference games don't come close to matching that criteria. As I said, a rational discussion.

Napier wanted 6 MM per year and AU laughed. He also gave wild demands to USCe. He needs to understand he is not Saban and needs to actually win something before demanding top money.

Don’t see LSU hiring the coach at U-LA-LA.
This isn’t AU.
But, you hired a career position coach who was a miserable failure the one previous time he was a full-time, non-interim head coach at a college program. And, that same coach is firing coaches off his staff now to save his arse.
Yeah, this pretty much sums it up.

Ed had mostly demonstrated the opposite, i.e., that he couldn't cut it as HC at an P5 school. His interim gig at USC was solid but nothing to inspire wow.

They’ve struck out twice going with the “up and comer G5” route, so I could see the big money at Texas having trouble getting on board with Napier. He would probably have better results than Herman, though.

Blah blah blah.....UL has no reason to count the score/win for that game....‘cept that they do. Ok genius, got it. LOL

Didn't say the win did not count. The point is that one win can't be used to qualify USL for consideration of being invited to the CFP. Which is what Mr. Ummmmmm seemed to doing. Now when they can duplicate that "quality" of win week after week after week after week against Power 5 teams........

Is Napier waiting for the LSU job?
I don't know if Napier gets the Bama job but I have to think going forward he's an attractive potential candidate at LSU and Texas.

Do you actually think O would get fired for going 11-2/10-3 and being behind bama and aTm next year? Or is that part just a troll?
Are you expecting a lot of A&M guys to return? Before covid they were supposed to lose a ton this year and be extremely depleted next year along with Florida.

And I think that if LSU goes 10-3 next year
Who do you have them losing to besides bama?

What if it’s Bama No. 1, aTm No. 5, LSU No. 6. You still gonna fire Oeaux?
Unless it is because of off the field issues O is not getting fired next year. It is not going to happen.
