What options do they have?

Stay in the ears of other teams recruits and have back up plans in place.

Crush them, see them driven from our lands, and hear the lamentations of their women.

Can someone help me remember the last time we took someone from a rival (or any school) on signing day? Not someone that was rumored to flip for weeks before, but a player that just flips overnight for no apparent reason?

Nothing to be done. When it happens every year you need to have a fall back plan. Sometimes the fall back guy doesn’t like that he’s the fall back guy and moves on as well. Then you either reach for a project or save for a transfer or reward a walkon.

Coach O isn't some great recruiter. This is a myth that needs to die.

Wow, what an awful take.

Dabo has the true alpha mindset...don’t commit until you’re 100% certain and when you do commit, recruitment shut down and no more officials to any campus, if these rules are broken, rescind offer. You could still get screwed, but the likelihood is a lot less and Dabo also has the resume to replace most decomitts with a comparable player. Also shows he has a lot of faith in being able to coach up his players.

how should recruits handle coaches that lie and process them at the last minute ?

It’s recruiting and been that way for decades.

The easy answer is, recruit better.

I don’t even know what this means.

No shite, recruit better. What’s the answer to that? How would one “recruit better.” Thats vague af

Yep. Some days youre the windshield, some days youre the bug. Have a back up plan just like recruits have other schools they are ready to commit to in case they get processed.

Coming from you? Don't you have a Will Wade thread to go cry in?

Coach O recruits no better than Miles, consistently puts all his eggs in one basket, and then gets left at the alter on signing day. His roster management has been questionable at best. People like you will once again praise Coach O for some great recruiting class, despite the fact he will completely whiff on guys in positions of need.

The same way players handle getting processed a week from signing day.

Do you think they should be hung. I mean I dont even know how to take this thread.

LSU is kind of a mess right this moment. Some kids flip others wait until February to see how things shake out.

If the wait maybe the other school does not wait on them and the go ahead and sign with LSU. I would rather a kid wait then flip. That tells me he wants LSU they just need to make sure LSU will be in a good place.

I guess you always have to have a backup plan. And Never assume anything.

That said, recruiting has never really been the problem at LSU. I know we focus on it and nit-pick everything on signing day, but overall we always recruit well. Maybe not as good and consistent as Bama/Clemson/UGA, but not far behind.

Work under the assumption that all of these kids are potentially lying to you like you are to them.

That and consider going the Clemson route and executing that plan. If you commit, it’s 100%. If I find out you are flirtatious with another program, we are parting ways.

Use the same tactics Alabama does. We have the players in the NFL to intrigue players to come play to get to the next level. We have the wins and championships to intrigue, too. Alabama obviously has been very consistent since 09. But, since 2000 no team has won more NC than us besides Bama.
