Havent you heard dude. Literally everyone gets to claim mental health issues.
People can say whatever the heck they want.
But if it’s true that he has been diagnosed by someone with clinical training, then the “man up” narrative being pushed by keyboard heros in this thread is both ridiculous and stupefyingly wrong.

excellent. At some point most who suffer from mental illnesses accept their flaws, seek help, and work through it. Being an adult.
Do we in fact know this kid has a mental illness? If we don’t, that’s not fair to compare the struggle of those who do with him, is it?

that’s quite the assumption. But not remotely true. Any other slights you want to air out?
No, I just believe there is a right way and a wrong way to go about dealing with your problems. Backing out of commitments, whining in public, then expecting people to just understand ...isn’t how I was taught to deal with my problems.

So literally the only information we have is that hes homesick and his body hurts.
Man up is the proper response to the official reason given by the coach of the football team.
Youd rather me go off internet rumor than what the fricking coach said?

Hester, here’s the next predicted response: what D1 school did you play for?

You clearly don’t know much about mental health.
There is a broad spectrum of mental health crisis ranging from “feeling a little blue” to having recurring psychotic episodes, to suicidal ideation, and on and on.
Not everyone who has a mental health crisis is just going to “work through it” and keep doing what they’re doing. You do understand that some people need to spend a significant amount of time in mental healthcare facilities right?
Nobody knows what precisely is going on with Gilbert, so anyone in here pretending to know how he should be handling it is just ignorant or flat out being a dick.

The fricking coach who said that the defense was light years ahead of last year?
Yeah, go ahead and believe what he’s telling you.

I'm watching the replay of the game. In the 3rd quarter Gilbert caught a pass and the Bama defender rather easily stripped the ball from him. Is that when he decided to sit out the rest of the reason?

Gilbert hasn't whined in public, nor has he even put his problems out there for people to understand.
Coach O in attempt to cover for the actual issues, threw the kid under the bus. Now morons like you are destroying a kid who hasn't done anything like you guys are saying. You've created a strawman of Gilbert that doesn't exist and are beating the strawmans arse for no reason.
Shea even said on 24/7 this morning that Coach O was trying to cover for it and there is a lot more going on but he left it there. Rightfully so because the kid deserves his privacy.

If that be the case, then Coach O deserves everything that’s coming to him. And I’ll gladly eat crow. BUT, this team does have a track record of quitting when the going gets tough.

I don't disagree with anything you just said.

He played his last down at LSU, I predict.

Totally agree. He's probably going through some mental health issues which are pretty common for 18 year old kids going away from home for the first time. Sometimes it's more serious than just homesickness. Give the kid a break.

Here’s a reality nobody wants to hear. Stingley can’t hang with smith. He’s torched every time he’s on him
To be fair to Stinley, can anyone cover Smith?
Stingley did run Smith down on a play that he wasn't covering when Smith was running away from everyone else

And if Arik ends up at Georgia or Bama, we should still respect his decision? frick that.
If he comes back to the team and plays hard, all this will be forgotten.
Insider my arse...Lots of bullshite wrong info in the past from "so called" insiders.
But until Arik states that he's coming back to LSU, he asking for what he's getting.

I want to hear more about Stingley’s girlfriend dumping him. Is that tied to the Ms St game?

Most of us can handle it.. but these are kids we’re talking about. College kids in general. I feel for them.
Unless they have had a close relative that has died or severely ill with COVID, most college kids think it is a non-event. They think they are bullet-proof and impervious to infection to C-19. That what my college kids and their friends say.

Stingley missed the Mississippi State game because of an allergic reaction to something he ate.
