Lets give some love to The Family Man (Christmas movie w/ Nic Cage)

This is such an underrated holiday film.
We always bash Hollywood for remaking classics. But this is essentially the proper way to remake a classic, as its more or less just a modernized and altered take on Its a Wonderful Life.
Weirdly enough i actually think Nic Cage at the time would have been a pretty solid George Bailey.
Also i want to point how fantastically paced this movie is. 17 mins into it Jack wakes up in his glimpse and everything that you need to know has been well established. Almost the entire movie is inside of the glimpse (which is what you want as the viewer) and then the wrap up isnt superfluous and all happens within the last like 10 mins.
Going back to Its a Wonderful Life, i think George is only "not born" for like 35% of that movie. I dare say Family Man is paced BETTER.
also i love Tea Leoni

Good movie. I saw the scene the other night in the bowling alley where he asks the older MILF lady if they're having an affair and she says she'll be home alone all week. Then he goes over and asks Ari to write down her address on a napkin.

I love that movie. One of my favorite Cage movies, and Tea Leoni is slamming as always.

I mentioned this movie in a thread about movies that kick you in the gut, I think. This is a movie that bothered me when I was younger and married but before we had kids. Now that I've had kids, the idea of what happens to Cage by the end of the movie...I'm not sure I could handle watching that one again!
and yeah...
She's so unbelievably sexy in that movie.

I love It's a Wonderful Life....
And I still really enjoy this one despite the similarities and Ratner involved. Cage is great in this.

I'd never even heard of this movie. Will have to see if I can find it to stream.

Thanks for the reminder, I need to pull this out of my Christmas dvd collection.

Love it but I don't like that he glimpses what his family might have been. When reality comes back those poor little kids no longer exist. Which creates this since of loss and sadness.
In Its a Wonderful Life, George really has kids and he sees what life would be like without him, when he comes back the kids are there and happy to see him and you leave with a since of happiness.
Thats my biggest issue, well that and I never got to shag Tia Leone and man I always wanted to, still do....

I love this movie.
It's like a bizarro It's A Wonderful Life.
Everyone is great in it.
It's another great "what if"movie.

Oh man, just watched the whole thing. Brutal.
I don’t remember it being this sad before I had kids. When he goes back home after realizing the glimpse is about to end and kisses the kids goodbye got to me.

Definitely my favorite Cage movie.
I liked the deviation in the theme from the source.
