It is probably close to 10 years since I've been to mall of LA. What is it like these days?

William Sonoma reminds me of that scene in the classic movie Hall Pass.

Owen Wilson buys 3 shots of Tequila at a dance club and the bartender says “That’ll be $59”. Owen Wilson says “$59? It’s all kids in here. How are they affording these prices?”

Remember when the city of Baton Rouge annexed the mall? I remember.

Bricks and mortar retail was dying before Covid.

There's a Williams Sonoma outlet store in Memphis that's worth a look if you're there, but not worth a special trip. There are usually Ebay sellers there trying to decide what to buy for resale.

I’m old enough to have witnessed the decline of Bon Marche. They had a really good independent computer store there that carried lots of inventory. It’s also where they filmed Pat Shingleton’s game show “We Play Baton Rouge.”

The last time I went, most of the stores were closed and someone turned the thermostat up to about 80°.

Went there yesterday for first time ever. It was a bit mind boggling to pay $250 for a kitchen pot. And that was after the 30% discount. Some things are just beyond explanation I guess.

Are they moving out or out leaving BR? I wouldn't be surprised if they moved to juban or something. I love their waffle kitchen towels.

Why did the mall of Louisiana go down hill?

Malls, for the most part, are real estate time bomb. 30 years and they are essentially blighted property

Since moving up here to Boise we have seen a real-time decline of mall traffic.

I know 1 of the owners of a food spots at the mall of LA and he said the mall is a sinking ship.

It’s on the way to becoming nonexistent. The internet and strip malls killed it.

And what he said, no one will explain is that the urbanites invaded it and lots of white folks stores left once the white folks faded away
