It's a soft drink peculiar to the Carolinas.

Apparently during hard times, someone substituted some sweet cherries, for some of the sugar. Despite the name, there's no alcohol in it.

My brother's gonna bring us some in a few weeks.

Went to school in North Carolina — the locals were obsessed with it. Especially in a Cheerwine float.

I didn’t think much of it at the time. Looking back, I kinda equated it to the same ballpark as Dr. Pepper. Little cola flavor, little fruitiness, but not quite like a cherry Coke or anything like that.

Prefer it to Ale-8-1. That’s a Kentucky regional soft drink. Did not like.

Had it a few times. I enjoy one every once in a while. There’s a candy store in the mean streets of welsh that sells it. Also, most Cracker Barrel’s sell it.

I kije it in moderation. Kind of like a cherry Dr. Pepper.

Yep. Lots of family in East Tennessee. My youngest loves the stuff from when he was a kid 20 years ago.

The cheerwine zero is better. Less syrupy and more cherry.

Very good.

Yep. You can buy it at Cracker Barrel. It tastes somewhere between a cherry coke and a cherry Dr. Pepper.

My friend and former college roommate loves Cheerwine. He had a cop make him dump it out as a minor once because the cop thought it was booze.

My daughter loves it. You can find it around BR in a few places. Fresh Market, Calandro's, World Market, etc. I like the taste, but I don't do sugary soft drinks. Haven't seen the zero version around Baton Rouge.

It's good. Get it every time I go to NC. It can be found at Kroger. Not 100% sure though.

It can be found at The Fresh Market.

Cheerwine originated in St. Louis, but the recipe was sold and that is how it ended up in North Carolina. It is an excellent soft drink. I wish we could get it around here.

A cheerwine at Cookout is mediocre...at best.
