I am interested in hearing about people's first-hand experiences at Space Camp.

I went in the early 90s... it was a lot of fun. I don't know that I learned a whole lot, but it was still a good time.

Having worked there, I can tell you the kids that enjoyed Space Camp most were the ones that were sociable and friendly, not the nerdy introverts who wanted to learn. There was plenty to learn but it wasn't life changing learning or anything. The friendships were what kids remember years later.

went to space camp at 12 then space academy at 13. both were an absolute blast as a kid that age. learned a ton, and got to meet kids from all over the country. One of my fav childhood memories.

It was a lot of fun. The simulators were really cool, and we got to ride the Space Shot as many times as we wanted. I remember the food being much better than normal camp food. One kid who was there claimed he won Legends of the Hidden Temple but still to this day believe he was full of shite.

I went in 5th grade but it took many a Saturday morning Krispy Kreme donut delivery to pay for it.

I absolutely loved it. I went to the one in Florida, so our trip included access at the Kennedy Space Center and we went to the beach in the same week.

I was part of mission control and we landed that shite like a boss.

I went in the mid-80's. We got to sit inside the shuttle Atlantis for a engine test on the pad. There was a malfunction and we were sent into orbit.

I went here n 1989 as a 12 year old and loved it. We sis countless activities all day every day. I suspect it has evolved quite a bit since then.

My biggest disappointment was discovering there is no such thing as a zero gravity room. I was looking forward to floating around in that thing.

I went in 1987. Had a solid time. I was a Mission Soecialist on the simulation. Loved the freeze-dried ice cream and Astro food.

It was there I realized I was pretty smart but that there plenty of kids smarter than me. Kind of kept me from later disappointment in trying to o out drive my headlights and go to MIT, Yale, etc.

I have lurked for years, but finally joined just to reply to this. I was too poor to attend Space Camp as a kid, but I always dreamed of going. I found out a few years ago that they offer Adult and Family camps on the weekend so I signed my family up for family camp last year. It was an absolute blast! My girls still talk about how much fun it was, and I got to relive my childhood a bit. You can stay in a hotel, but we stayed on the pods to get the full experience. I barely slept, but it was worth it. They usually have a good sale on Black Friday if you are interested.
