No. I grew up in the right era and wish I could go back to 1974.

Ferry boats in service today, we have one at Chalmette, one at Canal, pedestrian only there, one at Jackson/Gretna, one at Point La Hache, and one at Belle Chase. For update traffic stay tuned in to the big wwl870 and on our sister station 105.3 on your fm dial

Born in '78 but 65 would have probably been closer to ideal for me.

Being a kid in the 80’s and a teenager and early 20s in the 90s wasn't bad though.

I was born in 1960, and growing up in that time period was pretty nice.
What really sucks though is having had all that freedom back then, I can really see how much we have lost. Especially since 2000.
It seems like another world now, and we are rapidly losing our ability to have free will and free thoughts.

I have thought this since roughly the 2nd grade when I first read about Lewis and Clark.

The older I get the more that thought gets solidified.

Men were men, women were women, and we didn’t have to put up with all this 13% crap in everything. Great times.

Missed the days when smoking cigarettes were cool. That's how we got fricking skinny.

I have a theory that we have not evolved enough to handle this

It’s pretty well recognized that many people have that theory. It’s been well published for years.

Growing up & being a teenager in the 80's was the greatest. No cell phones, people were real, & the greatest music ever.

Yep.

I was a little behind you.

I know this isn't the movie/tv board ... but is Midnight in Paris good? I have it on my list to watch but I haven't gotten around to it yet

Its an excellent movie. The film satisfies nostalgic desires, but ultimately points out the fallacies in Golden Age Thinking.

Usually I'll put on some 30's music and go sit in my war room with a bluetooth speaker. lol

Man.. 50 and 60's.. When cars didn't have computers. You could pick up a WWII jeeps for nothing.

Land was going for about $40 an acre and there was lots of it with being over run with people. You could actually have an operate a small farm.

You could get off work and not be found because your boss could not track you down with a cell phone.

People back then worked hard. They were proud of the USA..

I saw on the news today about veterans day.. Back in WWII the people were proud to be of service.. They joined up because it was something bigger than themselves...

i think coming of age in the late 60s and into the early 70s would have been pretty fun
