They should have just done the Thrawn trilogy but that does sound a lot better than the garbage we got.

This was my thought after reading the first couple paragraphs. This would have actually made sense from the prospective of actually rebuilding the New Republic out of the ashes of the Empire.

fricking Disney and Rian Johnson.

Maul should have lived being a presence over the prequels.

Obi wan's story could have been so much better with that addition, and made more sense. Maul basically foreshadowing what Vader would become.

Or..now had the fight between Maul and Obi-Wan ended in a draw somehow. Maul then kidnaps Anakin as a boy to train in secret himself. Letting the galaxies believe they died..to only emerge later.

Imagine a fully grown Anakin who has been trained by Maul for 10+ years. Knowing how to fight like that and as strong in the force.. They would have defeated the Emperor.

Lucas is a great idea man, but he needs others to flesh out those ideas. That's why the prequels were so bad compared to the original trilogy - Lucas was so big by then he was convinced he didn't need anyone else's input, or at least on the level of the original trilogy (for example, it was his idea for C-3P0 to sound like a used car salesman - but others steered him away from this).

If he lets others pull in those impulses, the sequels could have been great; otherwise, we're stuck with prequel-level lameness (still better than the sequels, but hardly anything would have given a shite about).

On a positive note, this is Darth Talon:

She'd have a bit of a history re-work, as in the comics she is in the era of Cade Skywalker, Luke's grandson.

This is from Force Awakens concept art:

Cade was at least one and possibly two generations later than that. His father was Kol Skywalker who was a descendent of Luke, but the exact lineage was never revealed. Kol died around 130 years after the Battle of Yavin. Meaning he was born around 80 ABY. Ben was born in 24 ABY, so he would have been a bit old when Kol was born, and there is enough room for Kol to have had a son who was Kol's father, so Kol was either Ben Skywalker's son or Grandson. That would make Luke Cade's great grandfather or great great grandfather.

I’m for almost anything involving Maul. Interested in. Solo sequel for that reason.

I’ve said for years, imagine replacing Dooku and Greivous with Maul being like an earlier version of Vader in the prequels? Anakin loses to him throughout, but eventually kills Maul to take his place in an earlier Ep 3 battle. It makes him seem more of a threat later to Obi-Wan than killing a bunch of kids

You’re right. Pretty sure that era had at least a century on Luke. My bad on the timing, but regardless definitely would require a rework of her tale.

Darth Talon fiiiiiiiiiine.

That sounds better as an unedited idea. Much better than Last Jake Skywalker. Still needs improvement. Still needs Mara Jade.

I understand what he means by Leia being the chosen one, in terms of starting the New Republic. But wasn't the prophecy about bringing balance to the Force? So wouldn't Luke, who rebuilt the Jedi and destroyed the Sith, be the REAL chosen one?

This sounds better than what we got, but it's Lucas running it so I don't know if it would have been good. I personally would have had a fully functioning New Republic and Jedi Order with Luke running the show, and the conflict starts when a Sith Empire/Imperial Remnant emerges from the unknown regions to take over the galaxy. Kind of rip off the KOTOR video game with a ton of Sith fighting the Jedi, not just the 2. I think it would be pretty bad arse.

Leia being the chosen one is stupid. Why is that necessary? Anakin was the chosen one. It does nothing for Leia's character make her the chosen one. I'm sick of people always trying to retcon the obvious.

No. Watch the clone wars. It was Anakin, it was always Anakin. Even George STRONGLY hinted at this in both the prequels AND the clone wars. There was a massive amount of evidence.

Also, if you think back to Return of the Jedi it was VADER who throw the emperor down the energy reactor shaft.

Let's say the battle between Obi-Wan and Maul is interrupted by destruction of the area they are at. Their fight is never finished and they go their own different way and escape.

Years pass, and then the two meet again in episode 3. If Obi-Wan defeats Maul, does he let him live? I get the anger from what he saw happen to Qui Gon..and in the film it was a fresh moment, but if he has time to process things and years to reflect..does he still try to kill him if he has the opportunity?

Eta

And have maul kill the kids..before anakin can save them. Have their fight then. Anakin and Obiwan vs Maul. Get John Williams to combine the Duel of Fates score with Battle of the Heroes scores for this 7 to 10 minute one shot fight

Maul gets the best of Obi-Wan, but Anakin Saves him..using hate.

I will never understand how the internet continuously misunderstands or misrepresents the simple and obvious nature of the Anakin/Chosen One prophecy.
