Tf y’all doing with this cold arse butter. No one can spread that shite. Keep it in a little container on the counter where it belongs.

If something is stored in the cooler at the grocery store you store it in the refrigerator at home.

ETA: See the produce section for reference.

My wife thinks everything goes in the fridge. Thinks it's a magic box.

I buy one of those packs with four sticks. Three go in the fridge and the one in the counter.

We don’t store shite on the counter because we’re not two dudes sharing an apartment in college.

Trashy thread. I prefer my butter non-rancid.

According to the USDA, butter is safe at room temperature. But if it’s left out for several days at room temperature, it can turn rancid causing off flavors. The USDA does not recommend leaving it out more than one to two days.

I butter my toast with the stick of butter. Can't do that with a soft blob of butter.

We do keep butter on the the counter for spreading, but I also don't need 4-8 sticks of butter on the shelf/counter. Most of the butter is used in cooking which doesn't need to be room temp.

I assume you're referring to salted butter. Best practice is to keep unsalted butter in a refrigerated space.

Leaving butter out is disgusting. It’s a milk product, and it belongs in the fridge.

You people are animals!

I use butter for cooking. I really don’t use butter very often to spread on stuff. The last time I spread butter on something was about 2 months ago.

Go on Amazon and search "butter bell crock". It's the greatest thing ever if you want non rancid spreadable butter. We've been using one for years.
