Count me in the Exorcist/Omen group. Won't watch either ever again.
A short film but this one is great and worth watching again.

I completely agree. Time and place are everything. I saw the Sixth Sense when I was the same age as the kid in the movie. Had to sleep with my brother for a few weeks. I also saw When a Stranger Calls when I used to babysit my cousin. When you can relate to the character being tormented, it makes it so much worse and sticks with you.

I love this movie but it’s never really scared me. It’s just got a creepy vibe that intensifies as it goes on.

The Descent for me. That movie is terrifying even before the monsters show up.
I'll also shout out the original Evil Dead, which is one of those you had to be there movies. It didn't have a wide release and we saw it on a grainy, unmarked VHS tape. It was goddamn terrifying. It was like someone gave you The Ring tape in real life (a reference we couldn't make in the 1980s).
Evil Dead 2 is the same movie with more laughs and a bigger budget, so people try to remember the first Evil Dead as a horror comedy. It wasn't.

I don't believe the slasher movies were intended to be scary at least the later ones. But while Jason and Micheal have human bodies, they aren't necessarily human. Jason is a zombie and Micheal is under a curse while being controlled by an occult.

Agree with that. I watched it for the first time several years ago and borderline hated it. I think it had been so overhyped to me that in a way it was impossible to live up to its reputation.

Agree that is a good one. And shite like not being able to fit through spaces in underground caves gets to me, and I'm not even super claustrophobic. In a weird way, the monsters almost make it less scary of a movie.

Phantasm. The tall man that steals dead bodies and crushes them down to miniature size as minions. Put brains into metal balls that float and kill people.
House. Not really that scary but it deals with a writer that is a Vietnam veteran who lost his son and had a divorce.

Oh man, Phantasm fricked me up when I was a kid. Between the flying orb that killed people and the alternate dimension with the elf things, I had nightmares for weeks.

The first movie is a cult classic. It unexpectedly did well at the movies.
Angus Scrimm played the tall man in all six movies.

My dad talks about how much Zelda fricked him up the first time he saw her ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

I’m adding that to the rewatch list this week
Good suggestion

The Nightmare documentary scared the shite out of me because it’s real. Or at least they made you feel like it was. It’s probably just bull shite accounts, but I will admit I was terrified when I watched it.

Sleep Away Camp was scary as shite!

Phantasm watched way back when I was 16 and when that silver fricking ball flew around that corner in the funeral home and stuck in that dudes head, I shat myself

The little girls are the only thing in it that bother me.

Who would want to watch that?
I love Blues music, and the whole Blues scene in bars around the country. Went to a lot of concerts when I was younger. Bought a few books and read up on some of the older guys that I never got to see. One book I bought talked about the devil communicating with some guys in their dreams on the first page. I stopped there and never looked at it again. I think it's still around here somewhere, but it's under a bed, or in the back of a closet. May even be in a storeroom with my weed eater. Should have burned it.

Suspiria is a great lil horror flick that doesn’t get enough love.
