And what would cause it to turn north sooner and pull the track even further East? Would you say there is a higher probability of Shifting one direction over the other?

I see the South Alabama logo, and wonder why you would want this storm to hit at the miss/Alabama boarder. Everyone between grand bay and Tillman’s Corner would be pounded hard....really bad on Dauphin Island if that happens.

I prefer not to be in the middle of it - not that I wish it on anyone else, I just don’t want it to hit me.

Soutwest Alabama is going to get some ridiculous rainfall totals with this track.

Seem pretty plausible.

Catastrophic damage?

Too early to tell, but unlikely in general.

I’m just being selfish. Right now I’m staring down the barrel of Sally. If it moves East, I should end up being better off. It’s that simple (and selfish)

It moves slower over the next 18-24 hours than expected. Also a stronger storm may slow and turn a little earlier, but it's not as big of a signal as the speed.

East strikes me as more likely than west since the track didn't shift as much as the consensus model. I don't think remaining shifts will be all that dramatic.

When does it slowdown will tell you what you need to know. The trend this evening has been to a more eastward track, so that would be the most likely shift, if there is one.

People are going to lose their damn mind about a "nothingburger" in SELA when the entirety of the "miss" will be less than 60 miles or so. I'll never understand that mindset.

That goes back to people not understanding what they are looking at or being told. People have a habit of thinking in definites. Couple that with a refusal to understand that meteorology is in inexact science, and you have people acting like asses toward their local mets on Twitter and Facebook.

Significant eastward shift, could keep heaviest rain out of Louisiana, if it verifies.
