This is coming from an avid PS user. The fact that they have come out with the release date and the price at $499.00 shows they are going all out for the consumer. Also throw in the backwards capability across all their previous platforms makes the new XBOX leaps and bounds ahead of the PS5. And the specs are better. Seriously considering jumping ship.

Paying $500 to replay your old 360 or XB1 games is a good thing? What are some new games you're looking forward to?

the XSS is an awesome move and is going hard at a nice niche

that being said, PS has the better exclusives, the cutting edge SSD (the most significant improvement from this gen to next), VR compatibility, and better controller features. xbox still doesnt have an exclusive worth a motherfrick

ill be getting both but im more optimistic about PS5 for sure

but what does that translate to? XSX will outperform PS5 on third party games by a few frames. is that noticeable? no

dont listen to the 4K/120 marketing bullshite from MS. Won't happen outside of a handful of games. You'll get to pick one or the other, resolution or frame rate. I imagine most games will offer a visual mode for resolution or a performance mode for frame rate

expect 4K/60 to be the standard for well-optimized AAA games from both consoles

All that matters is the games and Sony has more and ones that actually interest me coming out now and in the future, their output has been amazing even in the last year of the PS4. Xbox is a lot of promise about the future because they’re currently getting their arse kicked, it’s really all they have to go off and gamepass.

Microsoft moves are interesting. Right now Microsoft is coming in hard with GamePass Ultimate and unifying console/PC world, Xcloud for playing on any device, and very aggressive price points on hardware.

Thats cool and all, but all that does is hurt the console. I have a gaming pc and can play xbox exclusives to where I don’t even bother buying the console. I still have my ps4 around and play it for exclusives.

I'm pretty sure Xbox fanboys said the same thing before the PS4 dropped and then Sony outsold them 2 to 1. The switch has only been out for 3 years and already has 20 million more units sold than the Xbox One.

I jumped ship from XBOX to PS about 12 years ago when XBOX forced you to purchase additional items for any type of online connectivity and play. They were nickle and diming everyone, while PS offered it all in one package. Plus PS had blu ray at that time as well.

I have ALWAYS disliked the PS controller and felt that XBOX had a more ergonomic design.

All that you have stated along with the superior controller is pretty much getting me back on the XBOX train. They no longer N&D their consumers, and all extra charges are about equal between the two consoles. I think PS is about to take a beating.

Still need games, PS has its exclusives.

I'm a PC gamer and "casual consoler", need games.

So, call me crazy, but I'm gonna go ahead and wait for the consoles to be released.

I don't think there is a console battle anymore TBH.

Sony and MS have very different strategies at this point.

They are both raking in a shite-ton of money.

Isn't PS Now actually running on MS Azure now? So MS is making money off of its competitor.

How is having a release date and a $500 price tag consumer friendly?
