Guys, I was on here for the Mickey Shunick case and haven't logged in since. I couldn't recover my account, so I show as a new member.

I know this case was posted here a month ago, but I'm pushing it. I'm hoping someone recognizes him. Or that some of you will forward info about him.

He apparently told other hikers that he worked in Brooklyn, NY in IT for 10 years and that he was originally from Baton Rouge. It's my opinion he could be from an outlying area and just said Baton Rouge for simplicity. I believe he began his hike in 2017. He was found deceased July, 2018. No ID. The links are to pics of him and more info. He also told another hiker that he was "weight heavy" before he began hiking.

It's believed that Ben Bilemy was an alias he used.

Welcome back. We all love a good mystery. But perhaps you could post the pics and some snippets from the articles? You’ll get much better traction that way.

Friend,

I wish I could help, but I do not recognize him. Do you have any more evidence he was from Louisiana? Best wishes in your search.

Yours,

There is also a podcast about this. Can’t remember the name. Put out by the sheriff’s department I believe.

Can’t believe they haven’t identified him yet.

Strange. Did no family or friends ID him? No workplace?

Nobody went looking for this guy?

This story was posted here a month ago. It was the first time I have heard of "trail angels".

So what's the deal with these "trail angels" anyway? Are these middle-aged women fricking the hikers? Is it like a pool boy type deal? Cleaning the pipes and whatnot?

I’m not sure I understand this thread. What are we trying to do here exactly?

You know, I haven't seen him in years but he looks like a dead-ringer age progression of a kid I used to see around when I was a kid:

Mostly Harmless checked into Top of Georgia Hostel & Hiking Center under the name “Ben Bilemy”, which was more than likely an alias since hikers were not allowed to check in under their trail names.

He more than likely shared some personal info with some of his fellow hikers, but it sounds like this guy was trying his best not to be found.

No ID.

This might have been mentioned already or might be an obvious route to take, but is there anything with his DNA on it that can be sent somewhere and put in a system to see if there is anyone who comes up that might have DNA that connects to theirs? (the way they caught the Golden State Killer).

Hey y'all, it's looking like the hiker has been identified! It hasn't been confirmed yet, but from what I understand, some of his friends recognized him from a "friend of a friends post" somewhere.
