I personally don’t feel the guy should be fired for this, but I’m also not opposed to it as it’s his employers right to do so.
But I have to think, starting your apology with your belief in faith when it relates to calling people figs can’t be the best route to go. At least not if you’re genuinely looking for any sort of remorse from those you’ve offended.
