I don’t understand people who live directly in the path/near the water and have the time and resources to leave but choose to stay. I know they don’t want to leave their home behind, but even if you’re there you won’t be able to save it.

I remember when the Mayor of Rockport, TX told people who stayed during Harvey to write their name on their arm in Sharpie so that they could be identified. I think saying that pushed a few reluctant people to leave. Maybe someone needs to say that here.

This.

If you're anywhere that could theoretically get surge from this, you need to get the frick out of there now if you haven't already. Especially in the Lake Charles area and those just to the east and west.
