Democrats and their distasteful politicization of funerals (obama’s John Lewis eulogy)

Obama just used a funeral eulogy to push for ending legislative filibuster and a bunch of other pet causes.
This isn’t the first time dems have done this. Just going back to the 2000s, you had the embarrassing Paul Wellstone funeral. McCain’s funeral was a partisan joke as well
If trump used a eulogy to rail against immigration or some other issue, media would explode
Yet media has a boner at obama’s Provocative John Lewis eulogy. Comparing trump to George Wallace, calling for an end to more than 150 years of congressional precedent.
Just a double standard
Reagan died in the middle of the 2004 election and not a single republican who attended used it as a weapon against John Kerry

Honestly I’m sure a lifelong politician and activist would expect nothing less at their funerals, especially if it’s a topic they believed in. I think it’s in poor taste, myself. I have no idea if this is just a dem thing or if it’s a politician thing. I don’t really get rustled up about what an ex-politician does.

Re: the Wellstone funeral. For those who didn't watch it live, the highlight (or lowlight) was Tom Harkin, congressman from Kansas. He started crying as he implored everyone to go out and vote Dem in the coming election. His climax line:
'DO IT FOR PAUL!'
