Was this a one time occurrence? Why did the officer stop him? Could it be other than racism? Was car one similar to one being sought?

I would be interested in what percentage of black people have had their car searched from a minor traffic violation and because of how they “look”. Because I’m white and I certainly have when I was 18 and looked like a grungy meth head.

I get the spirit of your post, but sometimes these things do happen.
In grad school a campus security guard asked for my ID in the school library. That's fine except he walked past the Asian and white kids who were also using the computers. I was a (slightly) older black male in a high crime area and it was after hours (like 1 AM), so I understood what was happening. I had other similar experiences.
That was profiling rather than racism I suppose, but sometimes cops do pull people over to make sure they're not doing something they shouldn't.

A black man is exponentially more in danger from other black men than white men or cops.

The REALITY is. A black man is safer walking in the whitest of white neighborhoods in the south than ANY predominantly black neighborhood ANYWHERE.
Is he as safe as a white man in a white neighborhood? I mean, I suppose it's possible no. But, it's still a joke compared to from his own buds.
Hell. A black man in a mostly white neighborhood is STILL more likely to have harm from some other black person that lives in that mostly white neighbrhood than from one of the white people

They definitely did, that was my point.
I was about 25 surrounded by 18-20 year old nerdy asian and white kids. It's a school where blacks are only 3-4% of the student population so I really looked out of place. Also, young black men commit a whole bunch of crime in that area. The security guard was a black man too, FWIW.
It didn't bother me but I was just making the point that people get pulled over for appearing suspicious. It's probably happened to white guys driving in NBR at 2 am.

That's something that drives me nuts in this whole "pulled over" or "Questioned" just "because I'm black".
I mean. Even if one pretends that's common, you'd think that reasonably bright black people at least would know the blame isn't with the person doing the questioning.
Of course. Sure, it's annoying as frick if you are someone who never does anything wrong.
But, if short people committed violent crime at quadruple their representation in the population.........I'd expect to get pulled over. And, you know who I'd be pissed at? All the fricking short criminals!
