I distinctly remember the first time I had to look up BBC on the Urban Dictionary. I thought people were making weird references to the British network until I figured that context made no sense.
Unfortunately this forum has a few legit racists (as opposed to the overuse of the term), both black and white.

White people definitely get pulled over for driving in the ghetto at night. And most of the time, they are there for drugs. In my college town, young people of all races were frequently searched when pulled over because the cops suspected they had drugs.
It's not racism; it's just policing. Blame the stupid drug war, not racism.

A story like yours I could agree with and see the point. Unless there had been some prior issues with criminal or disruptive behavior in the library it seems poor policing to bother anyone peacefully using library resources.
The woman in the article just seemed to assume a lot of things, almost like she had to prove how aligned she is with the cause.
You seem like a good person and I am sorry to hear if you were singled out due to race at any time. I wish there were objective records to establish to establish the prevalence of this happening and the determination of stops by race instead of anecdotal commentary or paranoid claims by people like the woman in the article.

Seems to me that she is embarrassed of being married to a black man. Otherwise she would never even notice all these ‘micro’ aggressions. She’s clearly looking for them at all times, almost 100% of what she’s complaining about is in her head.

A lot of these things are more because your husband is tall than anything else. I've hung out with bigger and taller people and the general populoce is just amazed with 6'5 and taller.

I had a night job at Canes and I got pulled over constantly on the interstate because I was a young male driving a Mustang. It was painfully obvious they wanted to make sure I was sober.

I’m 6’5” and get stared and daily. Not a day goes by that people don’t do double takes when they see me. Multiple times per week people approach me and ask how y’all I am.
Maybe that’s why people stare at her husband.
