Masks, in a non healthcare setting, are akin to a security blanket or petting puppy that you are being pressured (and mandated in some states) to wear. Some people are so weak they need to be told how to feel better.
That’s all it is....the science conflicts at best and this is nothing more than politics and government demonstrating that the are “doing” something.

The mask mandates are stupid because we know the virus is spreading by prolonged contact with infected, not brief.
You're going to catch COVID when you're hanging out with my friends/family, not when you make that quick trip to Rouses
Do I think you should be wearing one on an airplane or city bus - hell yeah - do I think you need one so you can walk to your table at a restaurant - not a shot.
Also - If the masks aren't preventing the hospitals from being overwhelmed, then they arent saving lives, they're just prolonging the pandemic.

I don't think the issue for most citizens is pro mask vs no mask but rather an overbearing government mandate. In the current Covid-19 environment I see it simply as a matter of common courtesy to prevent myself from inadvertently spreading any microorganism via cough or sneeze. But at the same time we live in a free society and I absolutely don't have any animosity towards anyone who chooses not to wear a mask in public.

As for touching the mask, I dont get it
I dont see people touching their mask. There is no reason to touch a mask ( donning and doffing the mask is with the bands/straps. Not the mask itself)

Voting republican and I support wearing masks for yourself. If you are someone who is at risk, wear a mask and stay home.
