It will be like California right now. They will start closing things again.

the perfect plan. If everyone wears masks and, after a couple of weeks, the case count continues to rise, we will have proven all the experts wrong! Think about it, it's a win/win. If it works and COVID disappears as some "experts" claim, then its over. If not, the experts are idiots. How can you possibly lose
It’s not a perfect plan because some of you people here feel personally attacked and refuse to wear masks at all

I'm in Texas this weekend. They have had a mask mandate and it's a joke. People are wearing cotton mask and things that are basically cut off shirt sleeves thinking that will stop any kind of small particles.
Wouldn’t it be nice if instead of fighting people on wearing any face-covering at all we could better spend that time educating on proper mask use.

It's like using a chainlink fence to keep mosquitoes out.
Good analogy if the virus is purely airborne. Terrible analogy if the virus requires water droplets as a vector.
We currently believe the virus requires water droplets as a vector.

In Washington state everybody distances and complies well. I have an exemption yet try to wear one around the old and in tight quarters. Despite numbers going down they kept implementing stricter measures on masks. Of course now they won't lift them because masks are "working" which doesn't tell the full story. Guess we'll have to wear them forever.
These dictators will change the narrative as they see fit and people let them. At 50, I'm so disappointed in my city and country.

So what happens if we comply, all wear masks
And the numbers of new cases continue to go up?
I’m down to find out. Let’s put the pressure on him and follow the rules so well that he ends up embarrassed if it flops...
...or maybe ends up helping.

Idk, maybe we should try it instead of doing nothing while people die and the world laughs at us
Every time some one wears a mask it makes the president look bad. We can’t have that, if you support the president you have to show the world that we don’t need masks to protect us from something that doesn’t exist. It’s a false flag deep state hoax to rig an election with fake votes from Russia and China. The dims are trying to seize power by taking away our freedoms and by violating our human rights. Wearing a mask is virtue signaling to the world that you have become subservient to a new world order where white Americans will be subjected to third tier rights.

If this virus were truly airborne all the time....we would have had wayyyyyy more cases than we do now, considering how contagious they believe the virus to be.
I know there are certain situations where the virus becomes temporarily airborne in nature...but even then...it isn't airborne like TB or measles where the virus floats in the air for several hours. More like it becomes temporarily airborne....and then the droplets fall to the ground.
That's why we will insist on airborne/negative pressure precautions for certain things/treatments that may constantly aerosolize the virus. But for those that temporarily do it (ex: intubating a patient prior to surgery) we will have airborne precautions in place for a certain amount of time (ex: 20 minutes).

It will easily be something else’s fault if not the masks

its all bull shite. They have their agenda and will follow through no matter what. They will continue to change the criteria, etc.
Crazy that the rest of the developed world also had that agenda and they’re getting back to normal life.

If you wear a mask and social distance, how exactly will the numbers go up?
The masks that people are wearing don't do anything. Including the one that I wear, but at least I'm complying.

You have data backing up that they ‘don’t do anything’? I don’t think this is accurate. Common sense says they do something.

Do you have data that backs up that the tshirt people are wearing over their mouths does anything?
It's no better than covering your mouth when you cough or sneeze.

I keep hearing, “ if everyone would just comply and wear masks, then we can get back to normal soon.” However I would like to hear some numbers from this crowd. At what point statistically, would it be “safe” to open everything back up? As in what number of cases/deaths/hospitalizations? Seems like this just keeps getting moved around and the goalpost keep moving.
You’ll have to wait until AFTER November 3rd for that news.

In Japan, wearing one is no big deal, and deaths have stayed low.
as of yesterday, according to the John Hopkins data table
USA Mortality rate 4.15% (and falling)
Japan Mortality rate 4.58% (and falling)
so, by what measure are "deaths have stayed low" ??

The more we test the more cases there will be, just quit testing and that goes to 0, problem solved
