I used to be a smoker in my younger days and for some reason, in movies, when you see someone “smoking”, I can’t help but ALWAYS look to see if they’re actually smoking...

When I see some wannabe-tough guy smoking a cigarette, and it’s obvious that they aren’t inhaling, it just bothers the shite out of me...

Anyone else?

These days most actors smoke herbal and non-addictive cigs. Back in the day they usually did the real thing though.

I had a problem with flat stage eyeglass lenses before flat lenses became a real option. I still dislike it in period films.

My other peeve is actors playing musical instruments badly.

It's easy to tell who's an actual smoker and who's just faking for the camera.

Not as much when they are holding, carrying, sipping a drink and there it is clearly an empty cup. It pisses me off so much and I have no idea why.

What drives me crazy is the way a scene is edited to where the actor takes a drag, but you never see him exhale. It makes me uncomfortable. Dude, exhale. You're gonna make yourself sick.

It'd be nice if cigars really lit just by passing one match across them for a second and then never went out.

I meannif You’re doing 100 takes you can’t keep smoking a cigarette.

You’re have way too much nicotine in your system.

With how many takes you might have to do for a scene I can understand why an actor would fake smoke. Nobody wants to smoke multiple full packs during a day of shooting.

John Wayne had no problems with smoking on film. It has been said he smoked between 5-7 packs of Camel cigarettes a day by many of his co-stars.

I can't even wrap my head around that to be honest.

I hate it when actors pour themselves a 6-8 finger deep glass of whiskey and just chug it like its sweat tea.

It’s cheese dick to fake smoking in a movie but smoking to Millennials, Generation Z, and Alpha Generation people is like putting Lit K-9 excrement in their mouths. If they have a nicotine issue it’s in vape form. You are probably a Gen X’er or really old Millennial? I’m born in 75.

What's starting to irritate me is red glow of the cigarette and the audible crackling as the smoker inhales. It was sort of cool at first but it's a horribly overused cliche now.
