If we don't get GQM then how do you see the CB situation playing out?

I don't think we take 10 more. Seems to me the staff likes saving a spot or two for transfers.

I think they will go for 11 this year and save for transfers next year. We are down to 80 on roster at this point and could use a full year. The scholarship from last year would be used to make this a big number year.
Next year we may have a problem with QB leaving. That may be a good year to save a couple scholarships for transfers.

That's consistent with what others have said. Sounds good to me.

I don't think we fill our class with HS recruits. I see us using the final 2 or 3 spots for transfers in positions of need after the coaches see what we landed. I agree with the 4 recruits you listed which puts us at 19 overall, so only 3 or 4 recruits will be needed to complete the 2021 class. I like to break things down by position, so we have 1 QB, 1 RB, 4 WRs (counting Brian Thomas Jr), 2 OTs (counting Tristan Leigh), O OG, O C, 2 DTs (counting Maason Smith), 4 DEs, 2 LBs, 0 CBs, 2 Ss (counting Sage Ryan), 1 P, 0 K in the 2021 class if the 4 recruits commit as we think they will. Look at the holes. We definitely need Olinemen. We are set at QB, RB, WR. Landing Thomas Fidone would be very welcoming since we will be losing players at that position after this season so it would build depth. Korey Foreman is the only Dlineman left that I see the staff pushing for. We are good at LB. Adding 1 HS CB or S would be great while filling the rest or the spots with transfer players who can bring experience and add depth at whatever positions are left (I see us losing a large portion of juniors and we go into the 2022 season with less than 10 seniors on the team). So with all of that being said, I think we only take 3 or 4 recruits out of the list of Korey Foreman, Thomas Fidone, OGs Rocco Spindler and Dietrick Pennington, and CB Ga'Quincy McKinstry.

Since we didn’t sign a full 25 last year we technically can sign 26 this class. Assuming they try to do that I think the last 11 spots will look like so...

1. Tristan Leigh - OT
2. Maason Smith - DT
3. Sage Ryan - S
4. Thomas Fidone - TE
5. Brian Thomas Jr - WR
6. Greg Penn III - LB
7. Dietrick Pennington - OG
8. Ga’Quincy McKinstry - CB
9. Prince Kollie - LB
10. 3rd OT (Savion Byrd, Diego Pounds, Erick Cade)
11. Center (no idea here but need to have one in this class since none of the 3 OL from last years class seem to be centers)

Biggest needs right now IMO are OL and true 4-3 LBs. We have a bunch of pass rushers but idk who will actually play off the ball LBs except Raesjon Davis. I’d try and sign 3 OTs this class and have the odd man out slide inside to OG. Need more bodies since we only signed 3 High school OL last go around. This class really could be special if it all Plays out. Would love to see Korey Foreman in the class too but won’t get my hopes up there.

Leigh, Smith, Ryan, Thomas, and Fidone would put us at 297.70 with 20 total commits. Last season we finished 4th in the rankings with a 298.83.

This class is gonna be crazy good.

Maryland insiders seem to think Penn is going to Maryland. Not worried about tbh. Already got Davis in the class and a couple of the edge guys we’ve got committed could slide to LB too. Probably still take 1 more inside LB in this class though.

No one can sign until December, however there's very positive vibes on the LSU end that he will pick us now. We'll see

Penn is the ILB we want in this class. He's being made a high priority.

Yeah I see two new Maryland CBs, with 8 and 9 confidence.
