Where are all the cornerbacks this year? Seems like the last few years we cleaned up, then this year, it's radio silent.

That. Plus next year crop looks good and deep for us...so just not a big priority this year

I don't think we take 10 more. Seems to me the staff likes saving a spot or two for transfers.

Going with and adding to your list:

Confident: 4
WR Brian Thomas Jr
OT Tristan Leigh
DT Masson Smith
DB Sage Ryan

Less Confident, but optimistic: 3
CB Ga'Quincy McKinstry
TE Thomas Fidone
DE Korey Foreman

Less Confident, but plausible: 1 or 2 of these
RB Camar Wheaton - does he go Okie?
RB LJ Johnson - seems set to TAMU? Like him
RB Armoni Goodwin - more and more press
RB Ke'Travion Hargrove - could flip
WR Destyn Pazon - FSU?
OT Savion Byrd - sure would like to have him
OT Diego Pounds - star watches wouldn't be happy
OG Bryce Foster - seems to be fading us
OG Rocco Spindler - maybe Dellinger can pull him
OG Owen Prentic - posters keep bringing him up
DT Tim Keenan - don't see it
DT Elliot Donald - seems a Pitt lock
DE Kelvin Gilliam - haven't really heard him before
DE Monkell Goodwine
ILB Kendrick Blackshire - we faded, can we get back?
ILB Greg Penn - seems more and more MD
CB Isaiah Johnson - really like him
CB Nyland Green
CB Kamari Lassiter
S Derrick Davis - We take 1 more S, which one?
S Cory Collier
S Andrew Mukuba

Couple posters here feel confident. Is that like high confidence or just some confidence?

Like when I see the other 3 names you are confident in those seem to be 100% LSU guys who are Louisiana kids. Leigh has kind of been all over the place in the last 6 months (Clemson, then some Bama/OU talk, LSU has been constant and OSU has been catching up when Latham went Bama).

As far as corners go, what is the target # to sign each year? I know we got some top end guys last year, but we still only signed 2. Wouldn't it be wise to sign another 2 this year for depth reasons? Corner depth seems to thin out pretty quick with ankle sprains and other lower leg injuries throughout the year.

i definitely think LSU is the leader for Leigh and i expect him to commit once he can get back down on a visit

it would be nice to sign 2 corners this class but we’re deep and young at corner and we could end up with 4 in the 2022 class. we probably just get 1 really good corner this class. but the staff might want Sage at CB, if so then we will get 2 including him.

Soph - Stingley & Flott
Redshirt Fr - Ward & Raydar Jones
True Fresh - Ricks & McGlothern

Plus Vincent plays nickle most of time.
So we have 6 guys within two signing classes...if we add several this year that starts to clog up....esp with Stingley and Ricks being so young and elite.

Fair enough. I guess we prefer to have a safety in the nickel spot rather than an extra corner to help out near the line of scrimmage. With all of these spread offenses its nice to have someone that can tackle and cover, so you have versatility even on the early downs.

Jay Ward didn’t get a redshirt but other than that, spot on.

Koolaid and Isaiah Johnson are friends and Isaiah Johnson is committing soon. We’re the favorites and he could help us get Koolaid too. If we get 2 CBs in this class i expect it to be those 2.

Another CB on the radar is Nathaniel Wiggins out of Atlanta, a four star.

I haven’t really heard much on Johnson, I was unaware we were his favorite. I’m about to go check out his film and look into him a little more. Thx for the heads up
