Ratings dropped 11% in the first four weeks of 2016, the height of it. They were down 8% year over year from 2015. Like many now, what you say is not supported by facts. And the kneeling in 2016 was a drop of water in the ocean compared to what this offseason has been to the average NFL fan.

Boycotting going to a Saints games will have very little impact on the $15 billion of revenue generated by the NFL annually.

Boycott the entire NFL including merchandise, sponsors, and don't watch any games on tv. Their revenue will tank as their tv ratings tank. Advertising dollars will decline as viewers decline.
COVID should cause tv viewers to increase since those who can't attend games will be watching from home. When viewers decline with the addition of those viewers, then salaries will drop.
Maybe these hypocrites will realize ALL red, white, black and blue lives matter, and don't offend the National anthem of your country when the country has improved society for all. There is room for improvement, but the majority of the improvement is needed in democrat run cities.
Moral of the story: STOP voting for democrats if you want a safe place to live. IF they can't get the 2nd Amendment right, how can they protect you.

The Race Grievance Industry may not want to believe this, but the NFL is NOT immortal. You want to destroy the brand, here- we will help you. They are subject to the same cultural winds as everything else. And there is a huge difference between people being annoyed and ignoring the NFL or enraged and actively targeting the league. We are on the cusp of tens of millions of Americans actively uniting to undermine the league and their revenue partners using every available means.

Good luck with advertising. Good luck with tv ratings. Good luck with compensation and revenue. Good luck with community relations. Good luck with us OVERLOOKING CTE ( read that one again). Good luck with stadium funding. Good luck with us overlooking player behavior. Good luck with Corona Virus issues. Etc.

The Revolutionary Left isn’t the only one that can agitate, target and destroy Institutions. It’s just a matter of taking it from ignoring a thing, to targeting a thing. Just a few more pokes in the chest will get us there. Or maybe even just a single well- timed Presidential tweet. Maybe we flip their script and we come for them this time...

Yep. Teams still made money, too.

I'm sure there will be some backlash this season, but the ones in this thread expecting Mahomes to be working at Wal-Mart in 2 years are going to be disappointed.

What some of you defenders are ignoring is that this is nothing like 2016. More corruption has been seen in the league over the past 4 seasons, the product has gotten worse, and now the actual league is not only allowing but sponsoring and pushing divisive agendas by spoiled rich athletes. The Brees issue is just one example of this.

That’s not including the biggest thing that will hurt them. People are realizing how valuable pro sports are to their lives. People can live happily without them and have found other things to fill their time that are more productive and meaningful.

Add again that less people are going to have disposable income to wage on things like NFL Sunday Ticket, many may not even have bars open to watch the games, etc.

Tons of revenue streams are going to hit the NFL and other leagues. Just watch. It won’t kill them but their value will drop and the question will be will they be able to get these fans back?

Players aren’t going to accept lower salaries. Just wait until they actually have to. MLB players showed their asses with this. They expected the same prorated salaries as if the games had stands full of people and fought tooth and nail against the owners.

Do as you want but stop whining about those of us that have found a more useful way to spend our time to better this world instead of wasting our time and money on spoiled athletes that feel they are more important than they really are.

Again, I'm sure they'll take a hit in the ratings department due to the protests and some of the other things you mentioned.

But it's not gonna be some death blow to the league like some think.

This ^^^

I can play two rounds of golf on Saturday and Sunday with lunch for what it will cost to go to a game. Camping, hiking, fishing, and hunting. Time to get back the great things in life. Instead of being hooked to the television all day on a Sunday watching overpaid idiots preach to me about lies they’ve made up in their heads.

There may be no college or pro football whatsoever this season.

COVID-19 and political unrest may lead to the cancellation.

Promising a "Black National Anthem" and kneeling may be a PR stunt with the expectation that no season makes this activity moot.

this fan is sick of entitled racist crybaby players and social justice being forced down his throat. Been losing interest slowly over the years but recent events have pushed me over the top. Just not interested.

15-25% of their revenue from the article numbers, that would cripple most any industry, wait until the athletes start going broke, this will get ugly.
