Black teen found hanged in Texas school parking lot

There are currently no signs of foul play and the young man’s name has not been released. The cause of death is pending an autopsy. On Twitter, users are demanding that authorities release the security footage.
The death of the teenager is the second in the Houston-area. A Hispanic man was found hanged on Monday in what is also being considered a suicide.

I have to wonder if people just suddenly decided to start hanging themselves in a noticeable increase in frequency, or if the news just suddenly decided to start highlighting them more. In either case, I have to wonder why.

Someone is clearly out there preaching a martyr message to the black community.

I'm pretty sure suicide by hanging has always been a popular option, especially for people without access to guns. The media is just spotlighting every time it happens now because it hopes there is some ulterior motive. There's also around 132 suicides per day in this country so it isn't hard to cherry pick them

To be fair, a Huffington Post "journalist" tried to draw attention to it. He reported the man was black (prior to the race being verified) and questioned the results of the investigation (prior to any official announcement). The guy wasn't black and it was a clear suicide.

That's because the media doesn't usually highlight every suicide by hanging. It's intentional to stir the pot.
