Do these protesters not realize things will get worse if they defund/abolish police

They are asking for mayors to defund or abolish police as one of their demands. The wealthy areas would just end up hiring private security patrol and there would be none of the accountable/over site police have currently. No body cams, no public reports, nothing. They are going to worsen what they are marching for

Nope. They want anarchy with zero authority or civil order in place. That’s kind of the whole point.

The whole thing is irrational.
Not based off actual facts.

I think it's analogous to a toddler learning to walk. Yeah, it'd be safer to keep carrying the kid everywhere, but eventually you've got to let go. These areas where the majority of the people don't want cops won't be happy until they build their own society with its own organic structure and laws. They will never participate in the same framework as the rest of us, and everyone needs to admit that. I think this means new borders, new flags, new Third World countries that aren't very nice places to live initially, and the balkanization of the (no longer) United States.
I'm 100% for it, personally.

Things would get worse, but Trump’s call for police to “dominate” protesters, and the apparent willingness of police forces to follow that ridiculous policy, has in many places demonstrated that police forces can be the cause of violence in society, to the point that they appear to stand against the community.
Why should the community support a heavily armed organized group which is attacking them?
There is a constitutional right to assemble and protest. The constitution doesn’t protect looting, but it does protect assembly in public places. There are too many examples right now of police attacking peaceful assemblies.
To the point, you are correct. We need a well run police force. But support quickly evaporates when police forces are not well run.

I say go ahead and let them do it. Let the city/state descend into total anarchy. They'll be begging for conservatives to come in and clean up the mess.

Yeah, I’m all in for major police reform, but defunding doesn’t make any sense to me. I don’t get the benefit of defunding.

Thugs calling for less police. Makes sense.

Geezus fricking fake news. Trump said he wanted to dominate the violence. He never said anything about attacking protesters.

Nothing about what they’re currently demanding makes sense. They are overplaying their hand, and they are going to blow any opportunity to affect some common sense police reform.

Stupid people can’t think about the big picture

None of this is going to happen. It’s just virtue signaling.
Some departments will get some budget cuts, probably needed, and nothing will change.

You don't need a gun, you have the police
The police are going to kill you
Defund the police

Defund the police

And his actions? Clearing Lafayette Park by violent force so he could walk across the street for a propaganda moment?
Your love for Trump has made you blind to what is right in front of your nose.

This has been disproved already. Quit watching CNN

I'd say your unadulterated, blind rage against him hasn't made you the most level headed gal either

Don’t use one example and ignore the other side of the leaf in the looters and rioters.
