So this is going to be a difficult but necessary topic to address. You could even call this part of the "discussion" that blacks say they want on race. I know the topic by its very nature will come off as racist but it actually comes out of curiosity. Hoping for a good discussion on this and would really like to hear back from some of the black posters on this site.

The question itself is simple. If you live in America and you're black, why do you stay? Why not leave America and go to another country?

Again I'm genuinely curious. This is not out of some racist feeling of "just leave America black people so us whites can finally have the country to ourselves". If you feel like America has wronged you and your ancestors so badly why stay? Why stay in the country where you feel like you and your children, and their children, and their children, will be second class citizens? Why stay in a country that enslaved your ancestors and, in your mind, continues to essentially enslave you?

Why not move to a country in Europe? What about Canada? Australia? New Zealand? Or what about going back to Africa to the land of your ancestors? Heck if you were able to get enough educated black Americans to commit to going to a specific African country they might be able to make the country decent. So you would live in a decent country where you would never be a second class citizen.

Look at the history of whites. Despite what many black Americans want to believe many whites came to America in complete poverty. Many with only the shirts on their back. Why did they come here? Because they made the hard decision that they could never achieve the life they wanted to in their own country and America gave them the opportunity to have a better life. Note, American didn't guarantee them anything, but it did guarantee them a chance. If black Americans don't believe that chance exists here for them why stay?

Those white people made a hard decision to move to another country with no guarantee. Black Americans need to understand there would be no guarantee but you would at least have the chance, the opportunity. A chance at a new life.

I ask this because I can't imagine staying in a country that I hated and I thought hated me. Being 100% honest, if I truly though America was against me, that it was a horrible country where I could never succeed or be treated as an equal, I would've started my exit strategy years ago. But one thing is for certain, I would not stay.

So I ask, why stay? I know I wouldn't, so why do you stay? Why do you continue to live in a country that you think is against you? Sure it wouldn't be easy, it's not supposed to be easy. It wasn't easy for whites coming from Europe on boats when they arrived at Ellis Island. But would't it be worth it?

Horrible question. You believe black people as a whole can afford to just up and move to another country?

If you don’t like the black Americans, why don’t you just move to another country? Maybe take others that don’t like black Americans and y’all could maybe make a decent country of people that don’t like blacks.

Man, you think people that skip on child support payments and get cars repossessed have the money and skills required to get another country to accept them?

ETA: Not saying that’s all black people at all but I don’t hear many of the hard working ones complaining

It's called Idaho and Montana. OTers fantasize about moving there all the time.

You think white Europeans back in the 10s and 20s had loads of cash? That they could just up and move to another country? Of course they couldn't, but somehow they did.

I'm not saying you would do it immediately. It would take probably a year or two of saving and getting your U.S. affairs in order. But wouldn't it be worth it? To go to a country that you thought you could have a better life in?

It's easier for blacks to move to another country today than it was for whites to move to another country 100 years ago. Where there's a will, there's a way.

White American ponders why black Americans don't leave his country

At least some of you are saying this out in the open now.

I know you're trying to bait me but I'm not going to take it. I want a good honest discussion, especially from black members on this site. So if you're a black member please identify yourself when you respond to I can make sure to reply back to your post.

To answer your question though SuperSaint, I have started to seriously consider it in the last year. My parents are in their mid 70s so they are what keep me here. Plus I believe America is still the best country in the world in terms of living the life I want to live. But I'm white, not black. Their viewpoint would obviously be different.

Once my parents are gone from this Earth there won't be much keeping me here in the U.S. I have started to look at fully immigrating to Poland, Czech Republic or Austria. If I decide to leave but not fully renounce my U.S. citizenship I might look at Japan or Singapore. But to answer your question fully I do believe I will leave the U.S. at some point and will not come back. I believe America's best days are behind it and I don't want to be around when it gets really bad.

This is as bad as the Rich woke black people lecturing others on what to think.

God why do people do this shite? Frame it as “questions black people need answer” “what white Allies need to hear.”

If you frame your bullshite like that, you didn’t want anyone to take it seriously in the first place

No I really do want to know. This is not bait, I'm genuinely curious.

I know that if the situation was reversed and I felt like I lived in a country where I was a second class citizen and felt I didn't have the same opportunities I would leave, no matter how hard it was. I would do whatever it took. Save for 10 years, work 80 hours a week. Heck sneak on some cargo ship and hide while it went to the country I was looking to go to. But I would not stay.

I just honestly want to know why it seems like no black Americans have ever seriously considered immigrating back to the land of their ancestors in Africa, going to Europe, heck even just going to Canada? If another country can offer them better opportunities than American without the racist atmosphere that American is accused of having why not go there?

Heck Canada is flat out offering people to come there. It's not like Canada is that far. Black Americans wouldn't even have to fly there. Just contact the Canadian Embassy here in the U.S., get required paperwork and forms completed, pack up their stuff and drive across the border.

Saintsman, it’s unfortunate but no one really wants to have an honest conversation. I scrolled through this thread hoping to see someone engage your question, but I’m not shocked that no one did. It appears a viewpoint that is contrary is not worth entertaining.

Thank you 13. I'm disappointed as well but I'm not surprised. I really did want an honest discussion on the topic but it looks like too many posters would rather resort to petty insults than try to address the hard question. I think this thread is a great example of why America is in such trouble. We can't discuss the hard topics without name calling.

I'll hold out hope though that someone will actually want to have an honest discussion on it. What's your opinion?
